sooooo is TSOTL going to leak this weekend then?!?!?!?!? Who knows? Even for me being "johnny anti-illegal downloading" it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. We're pushing 3 1/2 years since DBTT. THREE AND A HALF YEARS. |

There is actually very little correlation in leaks specifically hurting album sales. Someone eager enough to track down a leak is probably avid enough to buy the record anyway. It's P2P networks and counterfeit copies that hurt album sales. Neither of which can be avoided. As soon as an album is released, you can find it on any P2P network. You can't control that anymore. Only record labels talk about hurting album sales these days. It really doesn't hit the artist, it hits the fat pompous tosser who sits behind a desk all day. Please tell me you don't actually believe this? my god. start at the end: the point(s) I am trying to make is that album sales are hurt no more by a pre-release leak than they are by a post release download on a P2P network. Pre-release leaks are not directly responsible for poor sales of legitimate releases. There are many factors involved with that. I am also suggesting that someone so eager for new material is more often than not an avid fan of the artist, and will buy the official release, and that therefore in that respect the leak does not hurt the sale to that user. Passive fans or curious listeners are more likely to download music from a P2P post-release without the intention of ever paying. It is also true that record labels make the most noise of the problem. P2P networks are raking in sponsorship and driving huge traffic through their sites, artists make money in a much more diverse range of ways than 20 or 30 years ago and have more recently contoured deals for themselves with the minimum exposure to sales-specific income. I am not dismissing the effect of illegal distribution of music out of hand, far from it. |

THREE AND A HALF YEARS. i know plus downloading a TSOTL leak would be perfectley acceptable in my eyes as it's not as though you're not going to hear it a thousand times on the radio anyway (especially if you're based in britain). i'll buy the single anyway for b-sides, always buy the first one + the album. then if i am feeling extra generous i'll get the 2nd and 3rd. |

guy on a swedish fan site says his friend found leaked TSOTL on youtube but was deleted immediately, now he can`t turn of his computer because the youtube format of the song will be deleted (?)
