Yeah, but I'm just saying. Everyone in this topic, minus me, seems to have all this cool stuff that has never been mentioned before. May I ask how long you have had it?
P.S. I'm not being critical of you here...

How can you all criticise Frank like you did but keep things back yourself.
Sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone and I may be kinda new but this forum, I thought, was built around the concept of sharing with other fans.

seems to me, from things i've learned over the past year about this subject, that when one gets a very very rare track (doesn't matter how they got it), the person probably has intentions of sharing it with all the fans, but once you have it in your hands and you realize the power, then greed kicks in and you realize you can use it as a bartering tool to get more and more. Of course, there is always the devil over your shoulder saying that you should tell everyone you have it, even though you won't share it. Some people can ignore that impulse, but others (like flomax) end up relishing in it, in all the attention. There is also the factor of sharing it getting you in legal trouble, but this only goes for official releases, and doesn't apply usually to the kinds of tracks we end up hearing are out there that we'll never have.
And of course, there is always a chance that people are bullshitting about being in possession of these tracks...

There is definitely an elite group hearing stuff we never will and its not fair. In all fairness to frank I don't think he used stc live as a stepping stone to hear other songs when he easily could have.

I just got this message from lorddontnoelmenow. So I guess it's up to llam if he wants to make this deal, as none of us seem to have anything exclusive and rare that can be traded for it.

Seriously? Okay, let me get in contact with him. He did say he would upload the track publicly if somebody was willing to upload something similar in return. He seems like a very stand up guy as he was willing to share first as long as something great was promised to him.
PM sent and waiting for reply.

I have great news to share with you, everyone. Forum member llam has stepped up to the plate and delivered big time. He has turned over the electric studio version of The Meaning of Soul, and it sounds absolutely brilliant. I have never heard anything like this version before. What blows me away about it, is that it takes the song to a whole new energy level, just when I thought the song couldn't get any more intense than it already was. Wow.
It's now all up to lorddontnoelmedown, as we have one of the ultimate rare tracks to share with him if he's willing to complete the deal. I will send him another PM and let's hope we can get this done today.

FUCKIN' GREAT! IT'S TRUE! Steve, is the electric studio version more powerful than the live one?

Yeah, it's blistering. Even has a killer intro which doesn't exist either on the live version or the album track. You guys are going to love this song, in fact, you'll probably end up listening to it way more than the other versions you have. My only question is this: why wasn't this electric version put on the album? I guess they wanted more acoustic stuff, but to me this is the definitive version of the song.
I have sent another PM to lordontnoelmedown, so let's hope he does the right thing and makes the trade. It's a win-win for everybody.

I often wonder what gives certain fans a right to keeping these songs to themselves.

I got a PM back from lord.
So it sounds like he already has the electric demo, but is still willing to share because he can see that this means so much to the fans. He said probably tonight, but definitely by tomorrow. To daft punk's question- yes the fans are getting both tracks shared with them.

Nah, as I've said before, lord seems to be a very stand-up guy. No, I didn't send it over because then I would be a terrible trader. There's a proper way to go about trades. MOS electric is llam's song, not mine. My instructions are to trade it for SIOL live at soundcheck and then share all tracks with everybody.

|
Post by music89 on Jun 25, 2008 16:47:23 GMT -5
so pretty much once SIOL from the soundcheck gets either sent to you or uploaded here you will post Electric MOS?

If he already has MOS electric why can we not hear that now?
