Headshrinker get a grip dude, they're not that good. Some of the lyrics for record machine are borderline at best, stop the clocks sounds like it could be okay with a good recording. Nothing on me is alright. I doubt these will be on the next album. STC is not up there with wonderwall.

I'm sorry, bot the bold parts are just genius, the underline part does indeed suck and needs work, but it's only one line of the entire song. help me, define the light that's shining on me to get back what they've taken from me and build a little fire where it's cold show me, the path that leads to all the glory the words that tell a sacred story and build a little fire where its coldi wanna live in a dream in my record machine i want a piece of the world and every one inside my mouth cos all the money i waste, is in a manner of taste i want a piece of the world and you can't make me spit it outtake me, back from the darkness where they sent me, and give hope to places to where it can't be and build a little fire where its coldi wanna live in a dream in my record machine i want a piece of the world and every one inside my mouth and all the money i waste, is in a manner of taste i want a piece of the world and you can't make me spit it outyou can't give me a reason, i don't need one to shine you can't give me the feelings cos they're already mine you get one in a million and if the sun won't rise on my soul, then i'll glow

slippery when wet:
for those who have been reading oasis forums since the olden days. every 3 years or so we get the new album leaks, and we get excited, but after yesterday its deja vu all over again.
stop the clocks is a b side that's as underwhelming as who feels love was when noel played it acoustic in the usa round Christmas time in 1999. remember downloading that and thinkin "oh psychadelic sounds cool?" and then going "hmm..." check out the sotsog bsides. stc is as good as these no better. a deflating overhyped b side. in fact carry us all and the one weller covered (one way road) are better.
they got nothing is another liam based b side. sounds like it might go somewhere, but flatlines. the usual liam bore.
i wanna live... more of the same noel acoustic stuff. shout it out loud, sunday morning call, you got the heart of a star- strum strum strum. tag a couple of extra instruments on and voila- classic. not.
so these are demos etc, and everyone is hyped but i've been hyped before and its the same. the bare bones of these songs are what noel's been turning out since the end of bhn. and liam's at least trying to do something newish, but heaven help us if he quotes lennon again in a song. its getting embarassing.
as for noel's strategic masterplan- "he's doing this because...", "he didn't release stc for this reason..." whatever. noel doesn't have a plan- he has consistently lied or made flippant remarks that completely contradict themselves. you can bet on hearing a couple things if we remember everything he's said in the past- "this is the best song i've written" "its better than dm" "we're making it psychedelic" etc: its all more of the same.
recently, we went in the right direction- freshness- with potq, tiobi, mucky fingers, tuts, bm, even idler's dream. hopefully the demos we've heard this week will magically change and turn into true classics.
otherwise, we'll buy the album, go to the gigs cause they're always wicked, but in our heart of hearts, we know that it's the same old oasis.
bon jovi continues to produce music- same old shit- and they're happy to do so. i see saddening similarities there: no wonder oasis is playing fucking ottawa- its what bon jovi would do.

To be honest, I'm underwhelmed with all the songs. Let me put it this way. None of these songs are hit singles. I know that doesn't matter, since many great songs were never hits, or even meant to be, but these songs don't grab you like DLBIA or Wonderwall. I'm not saying those songs are better, but they are definitely more commercial...and I like them more. But many people seem to like them. Just not me.

STC is a grower; I liked it yesterday but I like it more today.
RM - good tune, but agree is missing something.
NOM - meh.

Record Machine wasn't as epic as I expected. If Stop The Clocks had another 2 or 3 minutes on the end, it'd be just like Champagne Supernova, slowish, but with some epic ass solos and shit towards the end. I don't really see what they could do with Record Machine to make it any better, it's pretty good, but its not great. Nothin' On Me does nothing for me, its a blah song, it reminds me of Eyeball Tickler. but I still expect the rest of the songs to be pretty kick ass.
