I really dont get some of you. Yeah, we're all entitled to our opinions, but how people can say STC and RM arent instant classics are beyond me. Your hopes are wahey to high, what are you expecting? For fucks sakes, RM may better than CS if they get the final version spot on, and STC is in the same league as Wonderwall, just not as sing-songy.
I swear if we never heard Live Forever, and that was leaked, most would be aying it was shit. Why are you all negative nancies? There's nothing to be negative about.
you may not like the tunes, thats fine, but they are in no way the Who Feels Love/Hung In A Bad Place etc average pish that you're making them out to be
These are demos, and the fact that the demos sound so fantastic is a postive sign. I wouldn't be dissapointed at all if these were the final versions.
Oh, and Stop the Clocks as it is now pisses all over LTBL

I totally agree with headshrinker.
Ltbl demo is crap, the proper one is the best song on dbtt, the fact that these demos are already better than the proper versions of current songs means they are gonna be awesome when finished!
Sorry, i'm not sure if my logic will make sense written down...

I disagree with the following statements:
a) that I'd have panned a demo of Live Forever. No fucking way would I have done that. b) that Who Feels Love? and Hung In A Bad Place are 'pish'. Those are fooking tunes, pal. c) that Let There Be Love is the best song on Don't Believe The Truth. As if. d) that a decent-sounding demo results in a great-sounding album version. Case in point: Where Did It All Go Wrong?

Everyone says that, but i definitely prefer the album version of where did it all go wrong, it feels more padded out like a wall of sound. The demo sounds like it could be live somewhere crappy!
Just out of interest, what is ur favourite song on dbtt?

Guess God Thinks I'm Abel.
I also happen to think that Turn Up The Sun, The Importance Of Being Idle, Keep The Dream Alive, and A Bell Will Ring are better than Let There Be Love.

Keep the Dream Alive better than Let There Be Love?? its a monotone melody ffs... Stop the Clocks being compared to Wonderwall?? errr those 2 songs are just entirely different. cant say their in the same league, they're different bloody sports my god internet forums are full of shite sometimes

stop the clocks is great, for a demo... obviously it would never live up to the 5 years worth of hype it's generated... with a few more tracks and some pollishing it should be better than great... the thing that winds me up is that liam should be singing it in it's final version but i think he'd just make a fuck of it... sorry, but i'm not a fan of the new liam on ballad-y type songs... he thinks he's john lennon and i cringe with every line...
record machine is a top tune.... if it makes the new album i think all of us will agree just how fantastic it is.... again, if it becomes a liam vocal it will suck.
it's becoming more and more obvious that the best songs that noel writes nowadays have to be sung by him.... which is a shame really... i miss the old anthems wrote by noel sung by his brother,,, but oh well, it could be worse.
they got nothing on me is average at best for this guy... might grow on me a bit tho....
lord don't slow me down with a liam vocal is just what the doctor ordered i reckon... really gives the song more of an edge...
turn up the sun sounds better i think... the only part i miss from the album version is that electric guitar line that is played through a couple times to close the song....

Keep the Dream Alive better than Let There Be Love? Pointless arguing about it, mate. You're not going to change my mind any more than I'm going to change yours. You're wrong, though.

You're wrong, though. ;D hehe, nice one mate true, each to their own and all that. But Keep the Dream Alive is a 3rd rate song written by a 2nd rate songwriter. in the big picture of rock music, its a non-entity

the only track i listened to was stop the clocks, and it is overhyped and most importantly, OVERRATED.
it's not "magical."

thank god someone is not wearing the rose colored classes. stc is a grower.. however any song you hear 20 times in a row is grower, great songs aren't "growers".. wonder didn't grow on me, it slammed in the face. record machine is the best one hands down. nothing on me, i listened once and can't even waste my time to hear again, its garbage. Pretty much my feeling, but I don't understand why people are arguing about 3 year old DEMOS.

Rm is an instant for me. I love Stop the Clocks but it seems to be much more of a grower because it is a very different oasis tune (and thats just one of the 7 demos they have) If Rm is longer then it'll be in my top 10 easily (with some fucking good solos in there) Stop the Clocks is just a brilliant song its not poppy its just a good well structured song. Nothing On Me ehh its okay nothing to special the mix seems kinda shitty to me but it could be a solid b-side

It's the first "fresh" material we've had for years now (since LDSMD/World on my Shoulder, in 2006) 2a.) Variations of these songs will prob appear on the album, maybe not NOM, but the other 2 have a great chance 2b.) Thus it gives us a sense of what to expect for the album, and i'm fucking stoked now. Very WTS/BHN type songs, and that's fantastic!!

I think stop the clocks would be epic, if the ending was longer. It just doesn't seem right how that great of an ending is contained to a minute, I'd like to see it go on with a guitar solo for another minute or two... Record Machine also just doesn't seem like its long enough, but I don't know how it could be any better. Both are pretty damn great, and they have potential, but they are nowhere close to being as epic as AATW, The Masterplan, or CS
As for Nothing On Me, it doesn't even remind me of The Meaning of Soul

I don't see how people can be such apologists over STC now that we've all heard it. It's disappointing. It has potential, but if they were to put the demo version on an album, hardcore and casual fans would be pretty underwhelmed in general I think. But the song has a lot of potential, and here's hoping whichever album it ends up on it gets more electrified, Noel dumps the sound-sound-sound bullshit, and they draw out the ending for a couple minutes. That'd probably rescue it -- not that it'd live up to the hype still, but it'd be a top tune. But for what we've heard, I honestly don't see how anyone can call it "magical" or whatever wild superlative they want to apply to it. It's not well executed and kind of a letdown. Let's call it what it is and hope that it's developed more since it was demoed.

And these people are AMERICANS are not hardcore Oasis fans, they - like most yanks - only like the hits (DLBIA, Wonderwall, etc). So to have 5 non-Oasis fans really like this, speaks volumes. Here's a few verdicts, word for word: STC: 1.)[22:52] these are cool songs [22:53] not gonna lie 2.)[02:43] feel like its a little rough for oasis [02:44] like its not finished [02:44] i bet the final will be sick [02:44] this is really good 3.) i love Stop the Clocks

this is what my friend said about the 3 tracks and he is also a HUGE oasis fan: Record Machine: im listening to that one now, it's alright but i don't love it it was alright, but i don't love it
Stop The Clock: i'm listening to stop the clocks right now, really not into it at all eh i just don't like it, that part is kinda cool [the ending of the song] but the rest of it is really boring to me
Nothing On Me: yeah it does nothing for me
and that is coming from one of the biggest oasis fans i know, he has all the demos, b-sides, albums, dvds, ect...

When i think Oasis i think Liveforever, Wonderwall, Where did it all go wrong, Talk Tonight, Columbia, Supersonic, The Masterplan, Who put the wieght of the world, Acquiese, Champange Supernova, Cast no Shadow, My Big Mouth, Don't Go Away, Morning Glory, Sunday Morning Call, Slide Away, Heart of a Star, Full On, Stop Crying your Heart out, Part of the Que, Turn Up the Sun, Flashbaxs, Shout it out Loud.
I can see Record Machine being added to that list.
Nothing on me - to be honest is a pretty lame song just does not live up to being an oasis song. Although i'm sure Noel has a thousand of these we have never heard before.
STC- I'm not impressed but that is not a fair statement. This is definitly not the version Noel wanted us to hear and until Noel hands over a final copy i will reserve judgment.
Honestly i hope STC and Nothing on me are not on the new record. I can live with record machine though.
To me how this record does will determin how many more Oasis records we see in the future. If it flops or is not a Definitly Mabye or Morning Glory i'm afraid it will be lights out. If it has some more songs to add to the list i made up top (list by no means complete) i think we will see more oasis.
I honestly want this record to be the bomb so i can tell all the fuckers who laughed at me in high school and throughout my life for listening to Oasis F You i told you so!
I remember for DBTT Noel came out and stated the leaked songs were demo's and the final cuts were ten times better. Honestly i could hear no difference.
One last tid bit Liam did say the new record was all electric. At first this upset me because i normally like Noels acoustic numbers but after hearing the leaks i'm hopeing Liam was right.

Record Machine is mind blowing stuff. And if its true that its 3-4mins longer with 1 or 2 more guitar solos, fuck me! It's already majestic. Record Machine is SO similar to Flashbax - same tune to it, same lyrical content/structure....just awesome.
Stop the Clocks is great too, but not as good as RM. Could be better, and the final version very well may be a huge improvement.
Both STC and RM are 10/10 in my book.
NOM is 7/10. It's ok. Not horrible. Around average. I do like it more than MOS though.
I'm just VERY VERY pleased with these 3 songs, and the possible implications this has on the new album. This is what I want - BHN/WTS like songs. And thats exactly what STC and RM are. Seriously, if those 2 songs are on it, and if the rest of the album is similar, it could very well rival WTS. I'm not exaggerating. RM, if done correctly, will be bigger and better than Champagne Supernova, and it's already epic as a demo version! And STC is up there with Wonderwall (Wonderwall gets the edge bc its more commercial and sing-songy)
That's no small feat --> 2 songs in 2008 challenging the great songs of WTSMG. This album is gonna be huge, even if these 2 songs are left off for some odd reason. I can't fucking wait.
