actually i'm not upset that the album is going to be released later than we expected it's still coming so it's alright i'm looking forward to it of course but i don't feel like i need a fix like before DBTT was released i'd like to wait till the release to listen to it but someone close to me might not feel the same   |

My question is, why is this taking so long? I don't know anything about the process of making an album, but I assume that it should not take this long for an album to be released if they are on the mixing stage and have been for over a month. Am I right? I mean, they released 3 albums from 1994-1997 while having to tour as well, so what's taking so long? Sorry, just impatient.

Well, if I'm not mistaken, they're finished with the album. At least, we think they are, as Noel won't be in LA the next Saturday. So hopefully that means that they are finished with it, and they will return to UK to do the artwork, interviews etc.
I guess we will find out all of that soon enough.

A friend of mine is in a fairly major indie band and just to give you an idea of the "process", they finished recording the album this past summer and mixing was finished a few months ago. The album still isn't out and doesn't even have a release date yet. It's a process that involves more steps than you can imagine The way Oasis works, the album release date has to coincide with tour dates being announced as well. There is a TON to coordinate and launch this right. They will time it to perfectly maximize concert ticket sales and maximize album sales. They've got to schedule tv appearances, start doing press, approve artwork, film a video or two, start a 6 week rehearsal for the tour, etc. etc. etc. |

Yeah, to me, if Noel is flying home tomorrow with the album mixing finished, then September is just right for how long it should talk to get all of those things done, if they don't waste any time. Everybody needs to just sit back and relax, because this will be the most enjoyable 6 months as news trickles out and we start to hear about the album and hear short clips.

September is a long long long time. It'll fly by. Plenty of other great acts have albums coming out, and a few good festivals etc in that time, Oasis album will come just in time to crown the year off! |

Well today is Wednesday in LA. Just got to work as I drove past the studio on my way in, it looked prety dead. Noel did say in the last RB int. that wednesday they were out. I want the album out June/July but, if September has to be it, then fuck fine then...It'll give me time to save up and go out n see the lads take Manchesta hostage for 72hrs!!! My weak Yank dollar is shit in the rest of the world.
