Since there seems to be a good chance that Stop the Clocks will be appearing on the new album, I thought now was a good time to share some things about the song which you may not have known to help you appreciate it's greatness. And if anyone would know the truth about this song, it would be me. Enjoy this. I'm not playing around with you like the other people are...
ABOUT STOP THE CLOCKS
Stop the Clocks is very reminiscent of the song Looking Glass by the La's. The lyrics are actually sung a lot slower than the fake demos that have been circulating for years. It kind of has the tempo of Looking Glass, and surprise, surprise... a few of the lyrics have been lifted from that song. The first time you listen to Looking Glass with the lyrics to STC in your head, it may give you a few chills. But STC is not just Looking Glass, it is Looking Glass mixed together with Who Feels Love. That's right... Who Feels Love is the Oasis song which most closely resembles the song STC. If STC the song had to be described, you could say that it is rather 'spaced out', almost a mixture of Who Feels Love, Looking Glass, and even Setting Sun. But the good thing is that STC is more sing-a-longy than those tracks, if that makes sense. When STC was played live, Gem added backwards guitar at that one and only performance. STC is a class song. You will like it, that's why I shared this detailed, possibly never-before-read by Oasis fans, description of it.

Well Looking Glass is an absolute classic so if it's owt like that I'll be happy. However, there's no way this song is going to be anything other than a disappointment. It's been hyped so much that unless it makes Strawberry Fields sound like Agadoo it'll be panned. I can just see it now, "hmm, it's alright, but I was expecting a lot more blah blah blah."

Yeah I was there too. It sounds fuck all like he described it. Imagine Rage Against The Machine's Killing In The Name Of, and mix that with David Bowie's Letter To Hermoine, and a sprinkle of garlic, and you're nearer the truth.
Its a shit song. Don't get your hopes up.

Frank, seriously now. You need to calm down.
"STC is a class song. You will like it"
Thats a very bold statement for a song only handfull have heard. I mean, how the fuck can anyone say something like that if they havent even heard the songs themselves?
Don't you ever get scared that you have hyped this song up so much that you might not like it?
Noel does tend to over exagerate sometimes you know...

I tracked down that initial handful, and found out what they said about the song on the night of the gig and the day after.
I've hyped up the song so much that I will definitely like it. Especially after my years of research led me to an accurate description of the song. Who Feels Love happens to be one of my favorite songs. And I just listened to Looking Glass for the first time the other day. I thought it was cool.

chord structure is similar to Who Feels Love, but the songs dont sound too similar after final production. Think wonderwall/d'you know what i mean... similar songs, very different sound.

The Messenger made a second post. And it was on my thread! Thanks. I must say, you have gained some credibility after The Daily Star printed a spy report very similar to what you posted.

Well, I will say this, my report on Stop the Clocks the song is not meant as a gag, but rather to be accurate and informative. I honestly did two years of research on the song, before coming up with the above after making the right connections.
The Messenger- while you're on here, perhaps you could clarify a few things. How come webby checked your IP and it wasn't in L.A.? I'm just trying to help your credibility.
By the way, were those lyrics from the song "Sweet and Sour" that you posted above?

sorry frank, i didnt think about it but my presence here probably takes away from your post. I truly appreciate your dedication and hard work. I think what you should really be trying to answer is if I am really in Tokyo or not . Knowing the location of the IP address would be enough if the laws of network physics dictated that a user be in close proximity, but this isn’t the case. Many gateways by their nature offer a large geographic separation between the IP address and the end user. Some gateways can be considered deliberate methods for obscuring end user location depending on the application, such as anonymizing proxies. Others, such as international proxies, introduce a level of ambiguity that makes them risky for transactions..... yours truly, webby
