The backwards guitar effect is just using a reverse delay pedal. I have yet to download this version, but most likely when you hear that a effect live, it is just gem, assuming he is the one doing it, using the effect.

from the songwriters point of view i can see why noel claims STC's his best effort.
i can even picture him going after having just finished writing who feels love "mega. how bleeding psychedelic, how lyrically profound, how harrison-esque.." blah blah. and if STC has the same vibe it may be recognized as a well crafted tune.

question is will it mean as much to the fans...like live forever given the assumption that one is the most beloved song among fans.
the best song doesn't necessarily end up as the most popular one.

sure the whole frenzy is tiresome to a lot of peeps here but i quite enjoy reading the rumours. must be like in the old days when kids were fantasizing about what's the next floyd record gonna sound like.
