sorry if i forgot something. the poll isnt really important. i'm interested how your perception of the other religions is. i personally dont give a fuck. however i think that most problems we are having are based on religion in one way or another.

Religions are created by people, but there is a vast number of people who dont think it's so. People make out of their holy books whatever suits them and problems arise.
Then there is the question wether religion is important, ie are people born with it, is it necessary to have some kind of religiousness in man? I think not, in terms of organised religion. There is a need for authority, the need to believe, but in this day and age it doesn't have to come in that form.
Basically I neither give a fuck.

Well officially I'm Catholic, my family are originally from Ireland - Co. Tyrone, so I had the typical Irish Catholic upbringing - Catholic primary school, Catholic secondry school, mass every Sunday. But I havent been to mass since my Father died when I was 12, I guess when I hit my teenage years, I made my own mind up about it. I'd now describe myself as a 'born again athiest'. ;D
I just think it's pretty pointless to tell the truth. If other people want to believe in something, then fine, it's a personal choice, I just hate it when people try to justify things or their actions using religion.
And we wouldnt have half the wars we do in the world if there was no religion. JMO.

I don't believe in unicorns because I think that the only evidence available is enough to think that it MAY be true. Nothing more nothing less. So logic dictates that it's a possiblity but I find it impossible to believe in it.
Similarly, with religion I think that it MAY be true, but I don't have enough evidence to think that it MUST be true, so I can't believe in it.
It's a question of logic for me and I think it might be true, but that's not enough to convince me that it is true, only that it may be true. I find it impossible to think about it any other way, because that's not thinking, taht's just feeling.

people will believe theories about the big bang without question but demand proof when it comes to god.

oh I don't believe in the big bang either - again I think it MAY be true, but that's not enough for me to believe in it. Same with evolution. It seems plausible. But there definitely might be a better explanation. (or a more subtle explanation)

i've got one thing to say about religion: religion is private and it has NOTHING to do with politics of states business... religion and politics are two different matters and should never be mixed... it would avoid lots of problems IMO

Can anyone elaborate on athiestsm. Any does the behaviour of the gallaghers put muslims off liking oasis. atheism (â'thç-ĭz'əm) , denial of the existence of God or gods and of any supernatural existence, to be distinguished from agnosticism, which holds that the existence cannot be proved. The term atheism has been used as an accusation against all who attack established orthodoxy, as in the trial of Socrates. There were few avowed atheists from classical times until the 19th cent., when popular belief in a conflict between religion and science brought forth preachers of the gospel of atheism, such as Robert G. Ingersoll. There are today many individuals and groups professing atheism. The 20th cent. has seen many individuals and groups professing atheism, including Bertrand Russell and Madalyn Murry O'Hair.

Some people say there must be a god, because the universe couldn’t just exist. But how could a God exists so he could make the universe, surely there would have to be something that created God and something that created that and so on.
I don’t know why we are here but I don’t believe a superior being created us.
