What a fuckig joke that was. I was at the worst oasis gig of my entire life, it was my 20th Oasis gig so far and i never want one like that again.
First of all, i should saw that the band sounded absolutely brilliant, Liam's voice was on top form. The stage show was better than MSG as they had some screens showing the band, some slogans etc. And for the girlies, i have never seen Liam look so good for ages !!!
The first downer of the night was on the way into the stadium, when some scummy chancer was asking us for help finding the correct turnstile to enter, him and three of his mates crowded round us asking to see our tickets to compare them with his. It was obvious he was trying to steal them but David just kept them in his pocket.
Security weren't searching people properly, just having a quick glance in their bags so there was plenty alcohol in glass bottles in the stadium. Obviously everybody likes to have a drink at a gig but really, is there any need for people to be so drunk that they can hardley stand up and fall into other people ?
The people we ended up beside were a disgrace, they were in their early 30's and were falling all over the place and they were taunting people around them, including one of my mates. During Live Forever, David offered to put me on his shoulders but i said no because i could tell it was all going to kick off. On cue, these arseholes started fighting with people, we moved away nearer the back and we could see people running down into the crowd and just punching random people. I even saw a girl in her 20's getting punched by a man, that is so scummy. During Songbird, i saw a young guu getting taken out with security because someone had obviously hit him with a bottle on the face.
For the first time in my life, i left an oasis gig early because the atmosphere was so shady. We went half way through My Generation and i looked back and half of the park ( standing section ) was empty. I have never seen so many people leave a gig early.
So, i'd like to say to these so called scummy oasis fans that ruined my night, thanks so much !!! Actually, i wouldnt call them Oasis fans, they looked as if they only knew wonderwall and DLBIA.
So for all those neds that were at the gig, i would to say that you all look like smelly filthy disgusting little cretins, you think you are cool but really, you are scum.
And then to top it off, we got back to my sister's brand new car that she only bought last week and some junkie scum had smashed the window, stole THREE cd's and her glasses that she uses for driving !!!
One of my friends had travelled up from England for the gig and i was ashamed to take him to a shit night like that.
Fucking hell, that was a rant and a half, i had to get that out of my system !!

Thats exactly my sentiments. I've got a post earlier that i'll post here, because really some of the people there put the band the city and the country to shame. I got punched myself for the heanous crime of asking a bloke very cilvilly not to jump off his mates shoulders onto the gilr beside me. I just moved to another part, but when Noel has to say something from the stage (think it went along the lines of "Stop the fightin, you're all here for the same thing, all wearin the same shirt") it is really rediculous.
The security was piss poor. I had an umbrella in my pocket that could have been fuckin anythin. The support bands were badly picked but I felt sorry for SFA and the Futureheads who couldn't really get though a song without some idiot havin thier say. And to top it all off, the cue for the train was just takin the piss, me and some blokes ended up walkin to the center of the city cause we figured it'd be quicker (it's a 45 minute walk for the record), and only just got my train.

It was a nightmare, these arseholes beside me kept shouting "............... young team" at my mate for some unknown reason and then when it all kicked off one of them was heading for him but we just moved away. I had my little sister with me who is only just about to turn 16 and i didnt want her getting caught up in anything.
King Monkey, being from scotland, you'll know that people from edinburgh are a bit iffy about going out in glasgow at the best of times so three of my mates are from edinburgh and they went after roll with it because it was too dodgy.
I was digusted at some of the arseholes in there, they werent oasis fans, they were there to cause trouble.

Yeah, actually people don't really like going anywhere, let alone Glasgow. I'm lucky I live half way between the two. I don't mind going out in Glasgow, but really, that would have put anyone off. You just couldn't stay in a large chunk of the standing section because it wasn't worth gettin hit for. Smart me moved back and still got hit!
For once, I really can't blame anyone for leavin at Roll with it, which says it all really. A real shame.

i have actually got round to posting my review of the hampden gig, but i posted a bit in the LOUNGE last night during general chat with dominic and webby and columbia about the bottle/piss throwing and fighting - its the last time i'll go and see oasis in a stadium gig or outdoor and i've seen them 15 times now - i hope the people at manchester dont have to go through want went on in glasgow
i spent most of the gig moving about to avoid falling people and flying objects

Did you travel from Belfast to see them in glasgow ? If so then how shit must you feel, my mate came up from Hull and i was so embarresed to take him to the gig. I'm going to Manchester this weekend and i really hope its not as bad as glasgow.
King Monkey, where are you from ? Cos i live in between Glasgow and Edinburgh too. I'm from Coatbridge but i live in Wishaw now.

From Linlithgow near Falkirk. I went through there at half two, so was on my feet right through the gig and on the last train home. That was 10 hours and at the end of it, I felt exahusted and let down but the Hampden crowd.

I was at the 2nd night of the barrowlands gigs in 2001 and nothing has beaten that gig. it was amazing in every way. What night were you at ?

I was at the second night and i think i have been too good to myself, no other oasis gig has compared to that one.
I'm really short so i cant normally see but one of my male friends got a bit para being in glasgow (he's from edinburgh) so he wanted to look busy (god knows why) so he had me on his shoulders for loads of songs. So between him and my husband they had my on their shoulders for all but three songs.

I don't go to stadium gigs anymore either for the reasons above. Going to both nights in Newcastle and hoping for some more arena dates in the future. Oasis' best gigs are always indoors anyway.

I dont blame you mate. I'm going to Newcastle on the 12th and i think it will be a good night. My husband said he wasnt going back to stadium gigs after Hampden. Me being abit obsessive about Oasis, i wasnt for giving up my gigs.
However, if Manchester is the same then i think i will have to consider not going to stadium gigs now.
I took my sister to MSG for her 16th birthday, it was her first oasis gig and she loved it and i promised her that Hampden would be even better because we were standing ..........how wrong was i ?

Manchester gig for June 30th was the same - lots of idiots, lots of beer throwing, lots of neds, lots of scallys, bah!
But put it this way at least you had good sound at Glasgow. They messed up the sound good and proper.
STILL was a great gig though. Was my first proper Oasis gig and loved it - despite the idiots........and the utterly boring super furry animals.

The sound was a bit dodgy at the start of Hampden but they sorted it out.
I'm convinced that they shouldnt play in stadiums in rough area's cos all the local neds go and its a fucking shambles. You're always going to get a bit of trouble but i was disgusted at Hampden.
I really resent having to leave an oasis gig early because of some smelly scummy neds who only know the songs from WTSMG.

If you have tickets for Manchester I would still suggest you go since it's a proper home-coming gig that really is special.
If you're standing though I'd watch out for piss and beer.
If you're seated, just watch out for beer.
Sigh!
Lots of dodgy sellers and really minging blokes around (!!!!!!!!) - no really, just watch out for them, proper neds. Also watch out for the dodgy programmes. The geuine ones are a rip off at 8 pounds each but feature a yellow garage front with Don't Believe the Truth on it. The pikey cheap version at £3 features a black front with the Oasis logo and I think the album cover on the front.

Sounds exactly like Hampden !!!
I wont be buying a programme anyway cos i got one in New York but thanks for letting me know. I'll still be going but i'm going to reconsider stadium gigs for next tour.
We're standing so of course we're going to get hit with something !!! Minging fuckers.

Fuck that sucks Nicola. What a bunch of neds man! Where we were standing everyone was sound. Dont get me wrong, I saw loads of missiles of various different shapes and sizes floating around but Ive seen that at almost every Oasis gig Ive been at, including all the early ones circa 94/95. But aye the security was a joke, you could have walked in the ground with anything. Like I said in the other thread, a bloke beside me had a crate of Tennents with him! But I still had a great time thought the band were brilliant.

You're always going to get plastic bottles, cups, piss or all three combined being chucked at gigs, thats the norm i suppose but this was well out of order and its mostly due to security. They're never going to stop it but they could maybe do their jobs properly.
Were you at Murrayfield in 2000 ? That was a stadium gig with no alcohol but everyone was searched and it was a brilliant day. Everyone just sat outside with their carry outs and had a laugh.
I feel so sorry for the poor guy that i saw being taken out during songbird because someone had hit him with a bottle. His face was in some mess and he was only about 19-20, its out od order.

hey nic, sorry to hear about the gig mate, wot you was saying reminds me of finsbury park to me. when i saw oasis their it was awful the security just stood there and did;nt help at all, i mean you know me being only 5Ft i could clearly see who the geezers were causing the crushing and this security gaurd that was infront of me was like 6ft and had extra height advantage too was like no it was the guy behind you, and i was like no its not even i can see that and i'm only 5ft.
i got crushed big time there and also at the birmingham gig and to be honest nothing was done about it, and its true wot ya saying its the real fans that suffer. i mean its the real fans ya see at the front of the gig to start with right up initill the last support band come on then all the real fans end up either at the back or moved back themselfs.
also about the searching of bags, yep i've noticed that at a few oasis gigs i've been too that they don;t check everyones, makes ya wonder dun it.
as for the throwin of suspisious substances from pastic cups, yep i've been a victim of that and as for being hit by someone my best mate was hit in the face by someone coz she was tryin to help me get out after passing out.
i am so looking forward to seeing them at southampton and milton keynes and am so hoping that my night is like the one i had at poole and wembley which was just out of this world.
anyways mate, hope to see ya at milton, if i don;t have a top gig mate.

i was down the front and it was ok, pretty rough as in the crowd moving but no trouble, i reteated to the back at mucky fingers and stood at the noel side of the stage about half way back and i saw nothing!
Although girl from my wrk said she felt intimdated by the neds.
person who suggested not playing in stadiums in rough area's. I dont think govan or parkhead would be any better, probably worse!
