I think he was generally good this year. Brussels was not good but you can CLEARLY see there's something bothering him, as he constantly talks to the sound techs, and more than once left the mic early to do that.

He needs to sing standing straight up and swallow some honey every night. Honey is excellent for the throat. Also if he ever thought to do (he won't) you can have some of the bone removed in the sinus area of the nose that helps with breathing. I have seen this on a medical show about people that snore or have a hard time breathing as they sing. The booze is one thing the cigarettes are the most damaging. What they should do is turn his mic up more and instruct him (yeah right) to sing the song instead of scream/singing. The biggest example I ever hear is the studio version of 'Live Forever' compared to Live Versions. Liam should sing at the same level he speaks at when he is talking to the crowd. He strains too much. Good points. Haven´t heard new bootlegs, but I´m still worried about Liams voice..hope it will last whole tour, but after that he should definitely do something, surgery? singin lessons? stop smoking and drinking. |

Liam's a rock 'n' roll star, smoking fags and getting pissed is what fits in with his lifestyle, it's what he does.
Plus, I don't think you can blame just the fags and booze on his voice, after all, he ain't in his early twenties anymore, and it ain't just things like your eyesight and hair that deteriorate with age if you know what I mean. Mick Jagger doesn't sound as good as he did all those years ago when the stones first started out, but look at him, who moans about his voice? Nobody? Why? Because he is the front man in one of the biggest and best bands ever, as is Liam.
Personally, I thinks he still sounds great, and if people don't like his voice the way it is and are bothered about being ripped of at paying for a gig ticket, there's one simple answer......don't go. Stop buying the c.d's, stop supporting the band. Go find some other band who are just starting out and sound fresh, but, who will always be pretenders to the throne graced by the Oasis boys, with Liam planted firmly where he belongs, front and centre, glowing in arrogance, belting 'em out, tune after tune. Rock On!!!!

liams vocal problems are exactly what ROBERT PLANT went trhu in the 70s on record he was amazing but it was a crap shoot what plant would sound like live years of alcohol and singing at the top of his lungs affected him there were times when he was amazing live and times when he was shit...zep thogh handled it better when his voice was off they would do like a hour accoustic set to give the chords a rest...
i think this tour will be a case of pot luck as to which liams voice shows up

Liam always sounds terrible on the bootlegs. I remember a show in 01 and I was convinced he had the best voice in rock. I heard the bootleg and it sounded terrible. When youre there, it sounds great. All that matters.... I disagree. Listening to a bootleg is no different than listening to the band live. It is though, because the ear picks way more sound than a microphone. I was there in AB and thought it sounded fuckin great. But I was in the crowd with people around me shoutring and singing. So my guess is you cannot really listen in a critic way until you have the bootleg. Cuz to me the boot from AB is different from the actual experience! |

I read a review in a Dutch newspaper (de Volkskrant)today about the concert in Brussels. The guy who actually was at the concert said that Liam's voice is better than ever before and that the whole show was a great experience..

and liams voice on lyla from the brussels gig was the worst i've heard it in 5 years,but he was alright on most of the others

Bootlegs always sound sh1t as the balance is all wrong, Liams voice is great but he does need to calm it and not strain it as much, he seems to enjoy his sneer though as he proves he can sing without it and then does it anyway.  |

I agree with whoever said his vocals don't sound too hot on the album either.
I definitely think it's to do with the fact that he sings too damn loud and strains his voice because his vox on softer songs like Let There Be Love sound amazing whereas on the rockier tunes they sound pretty ropey.
I just pray he never sounds as bad as he did at Glasto last year (shudders at memory).

cigs and alcohol/lifestyle i.e. hang out in the pubs a lot and talk loud etc. does affect ppl's voices as some have mentioned.  Not to mention if ya smoke and don't exercise your lung volume/capacity may not be what it used to be ...   I think Liam puts more demands on his voice than ever. he has worked hard at it in my opinion, (the changes over time)  I am not sure what other kind of vocal abuse he is doing when he sings ? singing outside of his range etc. ?  not using breath support as well as he cld ? Some professional help could really help. Bottom line: I wish him nothing but the best on this tour. Noel wants every show to be superb. Liam's voice is one-in-a-million to me. Man can he PROJECT it ! (ditto for Noel's.)   |

it stills oasis man! i know liams voice is shit nowadays. but he is oasis singer and, probably, with this voice, if i was in a gig it would be great to hear him singin any song...

It's funny cos my two favorite bands are Oasis and Guns N' Roses. Noawadays Axl Rose lost the growl in his voice and most fans give him shit for that, and the opposite thing happens to Liam, he developed a growl but he also gets slammed for it. I bet both are pretty happy with the way they sound which is all that matters anyway. I personally like their new voices. |

its reminiscent of the wibbling rivalry where noel is shouting 'ITS ABOUT MUSIC, MUSIC, MUSIC!' and i am inclined to listen to him....especially cos liam is like 30+ now....you lived it up, and im not saying become a fuckin saint, but your 'lifestyle' shouldnt interfere with your music - especially as its music that defines him as a great rock n roll star, cos he is the best fuckin singer...so if he is serious about this, then i think the least he can do is quit smoking or cut down
