just heard the bootleg from brussells, and its terrible. and i don't care how big of a supporter you are, bad is bad, and liam's voice was fuckin' shite..........
were only 2 or 3 weeks in on this world tour.........
IF THEY DON'T DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS SOON THIS TOUR WON'T GO AROUND THE WORLD! AND IT WILL BE THE LAST:(
liam has to step down and let noel sing more or his voice won't last.................. but knowing our liam g. he won't, so were fucked!
just put a half an hour acoustic set near the end with noel and the band........... liam comes out for 3 at the end, after a nice little rest........... live forever, wonderwall and rock and roll star ( fuck my generation ) sorry folks....... but liam can't do it anymore, noel has to sing more or we/they are done for:(
what do you think should be done if anything?

I hate to say it but I agree -- but the first step is for liam not to be pissed out of his mind before he gets up to sing. Even though its not going to cure the nasal sound in his voice that appears after the first few songs, it will keep him from slurring so much and also help him remember the words... lol.
Honestly, I listened to the whole boot too, and if if he sounds like that at MSG, I'll consider myself ripped off. It really sounds disturbingly like glasto... he's developing that kermit the frog sound on the high lines in the chourses like hes really straining.
And its not that he "can't" do it anymore either... the clapham grand boot sounded pretty damn good, and of course he sounds top on the studio record, so I think its really just a matter of if he takes care of his voice by laying off the piss and the fags while they're out touring, and maybe adjusting the setlist a little so theres some built in rest.

Look man Liam will never be the same. The combination of his stance and ciggies have made him growl instead of sneer and he's out of breath a lot.
RIP Liam's Voice 1991-1998.

Let's not jump the gun, according to the people who actually were there Liam was having technical problems with his ear monitor during the whole show, needless to say it makes singing much harder. Tomorrow there's another broadcast we'll see how that goes.

The whole thing with "problems with the monitors" is utter shite, I have been hearing this since the HC Tour. I mean does one really think an act as big as Oasis with as much money as is spent on their tours is really going to have as many sound problems as this? Bollocks. It is a cheap excuse... Liam is a acoholic and a serious smoker and that plus coke use has ruined his voice. Any vagina can sound good in a studio now, Pro Tools is magic. I love Oasis and have seen them live over many years dating back to the mid 90's and his voice has steadily declined, which is fine but why then do such massive world tours? It seems to be night to night really. I saw them on their opening leg in the US in 2002 in S. Florida when Liam left the stage and he sounded awful, but a few nights later in Orlando he sounded brilliant... and I mean REALLY fucking good. But then in Atlanta he was just ok so I dunno really.
He needs to see a vocal coach. He needs to do a lot of things that are probaly not too Rock and Roll if youse know what I am saying, in order to save his voice. I rather enjoy how on the new LP he sings some tracks in a more natural tone, several keys lower. This is a direction he should take, singing more and more like he can now and letting the past go.

I have to ask you again: where you there? Cos if you were you'd see him gesticulating to the sound techs during the whole gig... unless you're a fucking singer who wears one of those you don't know how it can affect your singing, though it shouldn't be too hard for anyone to figure out. Liam's voice has changed, but his singing is good most of the times.
Yeah, I'd like to see you try.

well said...........
the monitor thing is pure bullshit...........
at the end of the day its just coming down to liam straining is voice. he can't do an entire gig anymore......... he just sings to hard!...... kind of like axel rose at the end of the 90's:) if curt kobain was still alive there is no fuckin' way he would be singin' the same way he did 10 years ago................. IT JUST CAN'T BE DONE!
the question is will liam be a big boy, put his ego aside and stand down a little? my bet is........ no, so therefore, oasis are in trouble:(
its simple to fix this problem.......... more noel electric, acoustic set to drag out the gig ( which personally i think would be ace ) liam comes back to finish it off!
they could pull this off with bells on! and i think alot of fans out there would love to see an acoustic set thrown in the set! its been the same thing for awhile now............

I've heard the bootleg for the Usher Hall gig and his vocals were great, I really like his voice nowadays and everyone has there off nights even Oasis. However giving up cigs and drinking before gigs and maybe getting some vocal lessons would defianetly make him alot better

I saw Liam go through 4 microphone changes (slamm the mics down on stage and verbally abuse the monitor mixer) the last time they played hammerstein ball room in NYC . Seems like it's the same tantrum just many years later.

You have to think the shits gonna hit the fan at some point.
I mean noel NEVER mentions liams voice, but its getting pretty bad, and the band is gonna have to react someway. He can get by on records, but come on, by like december in the tour?? its gonna be really shit.
They can only keep this up for another tour tops, before they really restructure gigs, liam gets fucking throat surgery or something.

Liam should try showing up for a soundcheck once in awhile so they can get his mic/monitors where he likes them.
someone mentioned how if he sounds this bad in NY, they'll be ripped. I feel the same way, except maybe with mixed emotions. I just have the feeling that it's coming to the end of the line as far as Liam goes. Even on the album, the nasally sneer bugs me, but it's the live performances that we're hearing that worries me. I don't think he's going to get any better.
Obviously, for this many people to think he sounds horrendous, there must some validity to the argument

what i'm pissed off about is that i've never seen oasis live and i'm going on 30th june to citys stadium with a mate who likes oasis. he likes them but nowhere near as much as me and i've been tellin him that Oasis this and oasis that and that there the fuckin bollocks and if liams voice is sounding like shit then i'll be gutted. Liam sort the voice out i know it'll be hard knockin the ale and biffs on the head but it'll be worth it for this tour at least.

Liam always sounds terrible on the bootlegs. I remember a show in 01 and I was convinced he had the best voice in rock. I heard the bootleg and it sounded terrible.
When youre there, it sounds great. All that matters....

He needs to sing standing straight up and swallow some honey every night. Honey is excellent for the throat. Also if he ever thought to do (he won't) you can have some of the bone removed in the sinus area of the nose that helps with breathing.
I have seen this on a medical show about people that snore or have a hard time breathing as they sing.
The booze is one thing the cigarettes are the most damaging. What they should do is turn his mic up more and instruct him (yeah right) to sing the song instead of scream/singing.
The biggest example I ever hear is the studio version of 'Live Forever' compared to Live Versions. Liam should sing at the same level he speaks at when he is talking to the crowd. He strains too much.

But if the new live recordings are any indication of how Liam's voice is now, I'm quite concerned.
