with the very mixed reactions we're getting from the media and now the mtv prediction to put the final confusing frosting on the cake i personally don't know what to think. i was hoping for a top 20 position but was realistically thinking somewhere in the 20s.

Radiohead's Kid A did get #1 for one week, so that gives me hope...that Oasis will come in in the top 10. It's all about promotion, kids, has nothing to do with talent. Just buzz, pure and simple. It was encouraging that the two or three Best Buy employees I spoke to yesterday when purchasing the album were encouraging me to buy it, saying it's really good. I was like, "yeah i know man, I've been a fan for 10 years, i love this band." They wanted to sell me the new audioslave CD at the same time. Blah...fuckin chain store employees...

Is it just me or are Best Buy's slowly becoming used car dealerships, I mean, with all the greating and customer engaging, "And with your purchase today you get a free subsciption to......"

When does the US Billboard chart get announced? Hopefully Oasis can possibly get a top 10, doubtful though.

Saying that though with the (mostly) good reviews DBTT has been getting and decent (i think?) airplay they've recieved i think it will make the top 20 and the top 10 ain't a distant goal. Lets hope so eh! cheers doggboy

after reviewing the current top 25, and considering the complete lack of competing major releases this tuesday, i think a top 20 finish is certain...wouldn't be surprised if it got NEAR the top ten to be completely honest.

I was thinking the same thing. There were no other releases that really have a fanbase comparable to Oasis', so a top ten is a possibility given the recent promotion. Having said that, look what HC sold here in the states, so you never know...

Last time I looked in the mirror, I had ears, and I like Heathen Chemistry. Everyone is entitled to their opinion mucker. My opinion of the Gorrilaz is that its shit. Albarn is a fake. A dull middle class plonker from somewhere in some non-descript part of Essex who pretends he's a cockney. Now he's a cartoon. Pretty apt I reckon, coz thats all he's ever been.

demon days is a fine album. damon albarn's birth site is irrelevant. I was just trying to make the point that he pretends to be something he isnt - the reason Graham Coxon left Blur. If you like his music, fine, on yersel. I think he's a clown.

I think he's a clown. first of all that whole cockney thing died out in 1995. so stop bringing it up second graham left because his voice wasn't being heard musically anymore. third damon is a cockney technically he wasn't born in essex he was born in london and went to school with jonathan ross apparently up to age 9.
