I don't know if anyone plays guitar, but if you play Wonderwall without the capo on the second fret, it's Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"...so while Green Day is one of the biggest bands in America right now, they've also nicked Oasis's most popular song in the United States to get there. Pretty ironic, if you ask me... u are right my girl dont even like OASIS (so u know shes hot if i stay with her ) and everytime she hears broken dreams she is like thats your bands tune wonderwall

Im sorry! I just started playing guitar about 2 months ago. At least give me credit for trying. you technically don't have to capo anything cuz it's all punk power chords...it's just if you wanna use full chords as opposed to bar chords or power chords.....and congrats on picking up the guitar.....it's gonna be your best friend for the rest of your life.....learn hindu times.....fairly easy and people think your the most amazing thing since sliced bread cuz you can play some high notes on a guitar (another reason i think mainstream music listeners are usually idiots. by the way....if anyone wants the song that blends the 2 songs together, give me your e-mail and i'll send it to you.....i lost all respect for green day when i heard it.....

Honestly, I don't know if LTBL is a viable single. It's a very slow-moving song. It's fantastic, but I just don't think I can see it on FM radio - at least in the US.
Would love to be proven wrong though.

Jet only got to #1 because right now they're really popular...next year I doubt they'll be anything more than Bowling for Soup or Fountains of Wayne... i don't know if i would rate them that low....but they're popularity definately was a major factor in that song being a hit....it's definately nothing more than mediocre, but i honestly think if oasis could get LLAB, LLBL and either IOBI or KTDA out there, they woulda have a chance at getting back here....they'd algo have to act like angels cuz the media would be wating for a chance to give them a total asshole rockstar image...I'd also say Mucky Fingers had a chance if it weren't for the fact people would listen to it once, go "what the hell was that?" (which in all honesty, is what i did the first time i heard it), and they wouldn't give it time to grow on them

It's funny how people refer to "Wonderwal"l when they are describing the pinnacle of oasis mania. That tune only came 2nd on the UK chart. "Don't look back in anger" was the #1.

I really like wonderwall too... but let there be love is kinda like a CS... and you can't really compare wonderwall to CS... they're both good. just in different ways

wonderwall is wonderwall. their most popular song for the average people (not oasis fans) along with DLBIA and one of their classics. i agree with those who say that they have tons of better songs but that average people may have never heard them. LTBL is one of the best songs of the album without a doubt, but i think it aint ever gonna reach wonderwall's popularity because the Oasis boom was at its highest point in 95-96, and wonderwall had that easy chorus that everyone was able to sing, even if they didnt speak a word in english (as it happened here). I think it will be more like a CS, a classic for the fans and #1 in the charts but nothing really special. I have to admit that its my favourite one from what i've heard of the album.

Would love to be proven wrong though. I seem to agree with SlideAway on a lot of things on the forum! I think LTBL is a great tune but I don't think it would do very well on radio, especially with that huge pause in it (I know Wonderwall had a pause in it, but on LTBL you could be forgiven for thinkin the song had ended, it is such a long one). But would love it to be released and do fantastically well. I'd also like to say I have really enjoyed the discussions on this form since I started posting here. is great to chew the fat with other fans of the band who are (a few nobheads aside) such nice people.
