RADIOHEAD frontman THOM YORKE has defended his art school education and political activism against accusations from NOEL GALLAGHER he's boring fans.
The outspoken OASIS star fumed last week (08FEB07), "Thom Yorke sat at a piano singing, 'This is f**ked up,' for half an hour.
We all know that, Mr Yorke. "Who wants to sing the news? No matter how much you sit their twiddling, going, 'We're all doomed,' at the end of the day people will always want to hear you play CREEP. Get over it."
But Yorke is adamant his education has provided at least one vital lesson Gallagher would be wise to adopt. On Radiohead's website he retorts, "It taught me to respect other

hum... i've never liked when ppl who have had no education slag ppl who have had one
after all it's a good thing to have an education, it's a chance not everybody has too
noel can slag off t.york for his activism or his music if he likes but not for being an educated person
it sounds wrong to me
moreover painting is a form of art as much as music
noel was gifted enough to learn by himself, but still not everybody has access to music...

i dont think that radiohead's music has less appeal than oasis
radiohead is a VERY successful act
and im sure that thom yorke is aware that oasis and radiohead are in two different leagues

Radiohead > Oasis. No comparison. Boo hoo Thom whines. He's written more layers in one song than 3 albums of Oasis. And he doesn't slag other artists off either. Nor do you see Thom setting a fire extinguiser off on someone. Some quality, something like respect or something. What the hell did Thom yet anyone in Radiohead ever do to him let alone make a refrence to him in anyway?!
Publicity acts is all Noel's doing. Oasis times are dire right now since nothings going on, so he needs to keep himself up there in the papers. He said something before the Brits, he's bound to say something soon and before his charity gig.

As for Thom Yorke's criptic response to Noel...the only thing he achieved was to confirm that he is a dweeb. I dont understand why Yorke continues to be a musician, really. I used to love that band but they are a bunch of cynical twats nowdays. If you hate the industry so much, fuck off. |

Personally Radiohead just bore the tits right offa me, just the sound of Thom Yorkes voice makes me want to turn them off.
And I have to say that I hate the way that people who are right into them seem to suggest that you are stupid and dont have a clue "about music" if you don't like them, and go on about "layers" in their music etc.

I agree with Noel's political statements, but he's also trying to put down bands that he loves. U2 and Radiohead? He's admitted admiration for both of these bands on occastion, and he should Ok Computer the Bends are amazing CDs. What I don't get is all of the elitist artsy bullshit that surrounds the criticisms of Radiohead. Kid A and Amnesiac are terrible CDs, but because they weren't advertised, sounded unique, and were more underground they got praised. A band like Oasis, who's more arrogant and boastful puts out Be Here Now, and people bash the shit out of it because of some minor faults in it. All Around The World played this morning on my music station I was thought to myself, "This song fuckin rules" the melodies, layers, guitar parts. Sure Be Here Now is no MG or DM but it's sure as hell alot better than Amnesiac and Kid A as far as listening goes. Radiohead's Hail To The Theif was a pleasant suprise.
Anyways my point is people love to hate Oasis because they're so arrogant. They've put out 5 great CDs, and one CD with some mediocre material on it (SOTSOG). Radiohead who are quiet, polite, and trendy put out a shit CD and noone has the nuts to hate on it.

To understand and fully appreciate latest Radiohead albums, you certainly need more intelligence and repeat listening than you need on Oasis songs, taken from whatever era. Even, 'the Bends" have some difficult moments, otherwise listening to Oasis was a treat through and through.

And while were at it fuck the NME, Rolling Stone and all the other bandwagon jumping bastards who look down on bands and people who want a good time listening to good music without having a lesson in life rammed down your throat.
