And to anyone that thinks intelligence comes courtesy of a Uni or college therefor making you superior brain capacity wise is sorely wrong, You can learn something from a book and remember it but im afraid its life that builds the person. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have families and the support for education (myself included) but do not EVER hold that against someone cos it will bite you on the arse Welcome to the club. Didn't mention a word about that. Form is temporary class is permanent therefor i believe Radiohead will have another OK Computer but until then i refuse to hold them in any regard due to the fact of my personal hatred of people like Jo Whiley Damon Albarn Radiohead who all bow to the "Lets be different im more intelligent and holier than thou" attitude. Sure. But, the "let me bash every band to some reporter to put it across the paper" or " "say something exaggerrated" attitude is nowhere near anything a step forward. I don't want to come across as a twat but you do realise this is an Oasis forum?, I suggest if your going to make an argument that radiohead are better than oasis and slag oasis off could you please remove yourself off this site and plonk yourself at one of many Radiohead sites Where they would be more than happy to listen to your cantankerous whitterings(You never know someone on there may get a tune out of them!). I run a feckin oasis forum. And a blog for other kinds of music. If I didn't like Oasis, I wouldn't have all the GBs of them that I have let alone all that stuff that i've uploaded. I'm not on ateaseweb or radiohead (___) forum as they have a hub which is plenty of use for me for their boots. Its an Oasis forum where we were discussing Thom's response to Noel's rant. I put my opinion in to what I think of the two. If radiohead comes out on top in my part, so be it. Why should bands etc.... change? Noel and the boys are comfortable with there music and don't feel the need to fit in, And they make music for them and the fans. Music for the fans but they'll play the same setlist every night filled with tunes that mags and critics and all that acclaim and put on radio stations where the masses can like and hardly a rare tune or b-side (Acquiesce/Masterplan/Talk Tonight could barely count). Even on cities where they play multiple night stands. If you've got the talent to make good music, why not expand your horizons?! Change is the one of the only thing thats granted in any situation. And while were at it fuck the NME, Rolling Stone and all the other bandwagon jumping bastards who look down on bands and people who want a good time listening to good music without having a lesson in life rammed down your throat. You can go on my oink account and see what I've downloaded. If you see 4 or more bands that NME promotes, then ya got me. Otherwise, the majority of my snatches are bands NME or radio station or whatever way of mass media haven't mentioned in ages or never shined light upon. No hard feelings or anything, just stating opinions. As long as you're not diggin' at me, no need for me to dig after you.

maybe in the future you could keep some of those opinions to yourself?

the style of music is different. oasis is just about rocking. simple rock n roll. I hope they get a little more complex because to be honest the tunes from DBTT (besides maybe one or two) haven't stuck with me.
Radiohead's music is good music for a thinker since it does say a lot. It also has a lot more musical depth too. It definitely is more "intellectual"
but you dont need an education to understand it necessarily.

Radiohead's music lately is nearly unlistenable. They just pile on layers of music tracks to cover up the bad, uninspired songwriting.

Thom Yorke is a vagina! surprised he aint slit his wrists with the shite music he puts our, especially lately! Yeah, you can say his music is brilliant and just in a completely different genre to Oasis, but, to me it stands as this, no Radiohead fan is a true Oasis fan. Anyone who loves Thom Yorke can go and suck his little balls!
(Sorry to cause any offence to anyone but this is a matter that has caused many rows and now the split up of my band so it really fucks me off, all of a sudden they decide Oasis are too heavy (WTF!!) and decide they want to follow Thom Yorke's inspiration and make "beautiful music" as my vagina of a guitarist says).

the bends and ok computer are really good albums imo... but everything and i mean EVERYTHING since then is just art school, reaching for something that isn't there, trying to sound different, fucking rubbish.

reaching for something that isn't there, trying to sound different, fucking rubbish. who are you to say that whatever it is hes reaching for isnt there?? i dont understand any of this criticism of thom yorke, hes had two albums which are considered to be two of the greatest of all time. now hes just making music, not for me, not for you, not for dog boy but for himself. it not just art school university types that like that sort of music, my mate alex is the one person i know that didnt go to university and he loves all that experimentation stuff, he isnt trying to be different, he just likes that kind of music thom yorke is just making music he likes and even tho i dont like it myself i respect what hes doing

dont get angry and take it personal junior.
you know this is an Oasis forum. and whoever said earlier that most oasis fans are not radiohead fans (and vice versa) are right on.
you dont need to take my comments so personal. i do not enjoy the radiohead (since ok comp). get over it. i'm just a 29 year old loser from buttfuck Canada.

I for one am Radiohead fan and I am also Oasis fan. I just can't tolerate some fucking knuckleheads like you. I don't care if it is a Oasis forum. Respect is all I want. And yeah, Thom Yorke is making music for himself, not to some stupid bastards that can't understand shit. Of course, you don't need education to understand Radiohead music. You need patience, intelligence and emotion. Which is what some people lack when they are listening to this kind of bands.

can anyone sit through 5 straight radiohead tunes, not to mention an entire album? I have everything they've ever done, and a large sum of it would be difficult to call "music" imo...but i guess that's what the radiohead elitists love about the shit. "Fitter, happier" pretty much somes it up, i guess. the guy should jump off a building and give himself what he implies he wants through his long-winded diatribes.

Thom Yorke should stop protesting against global warming and start recording a new album.
