www.gigsandtours.comGo to the Bands A-Z and go to coldplay, click on them. 4 stadium shows, still not sold out whereas Oasis do 6 or 7 and believe it or not, they sell out almost instantly! ;D

I agree that Oasis are better than Coldplay
BUT..........
you can't judge on who is better simply by selling tickets. I mean, here in the States, those teenie bopper bands used to sell out everything and they sucked big time.
What's really impressive and what I tell everyone is that in a country who: - gives them a bad reputation - gives them no airplay on radio or TV - the mainstream knows them for one, maybe two songs - no advertising of ticket sales
WITH ALL OF THAT, OASIS SOLD OUT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN IN LESS THAN ONE HOUR.

Actually, I read that A Rush Of Blood To The Head has sold 16 million albums worldwide. WTSMG sold more quicker.... and i dont believe that can be right it moved barely 2 million here ..and america buys alot of lps ,i cant see them sellin 14 million more outside of america where they did not even come close to WTSMG sales WTSMG moved like 3 or 4 million here AND IS THE SECOND BIGGEST LP IN THE uk BEHIND THE BEATLES (revolver or peppers i forget) i cant believe they moved 16 million without outselling WTSMG in the UK OR USA..JMO

well, if Oasis were bigger than Coldplay in the states before, they certainly not anymore, www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/Music/05/02/leisure.coldplay.reut/Really, it all depends on how the new albums do. Both bands are doing equally as good in terms of touring in North America. Both have sold out the Gardens. However, Oasis haven't sold out the Hollywood Bowl just yet.

From what I've read both Coldplay albums HAVE sold MORE than Morning Glory in the US (but less world wide). I read recently that A Rush of Blood To The Head has sold over 10 million world wide, including over 5 million in the US, 2 million in the UK and another 3 million around the rest of the world. Whereas Morning Glory has sold about 18 million, including over 4 million in both the US and UK, and apparently another 10 million in the rest of the world.

As for the Spice Girls, well their sales piss on Oasis and Coldplay combined!
Spice sold over 26 million copies world wide and Spice World around 18 million. And then of course their third album didn't even sell 100k in the UK!

feckarse and kalas you make me laugh ! Look and "Listen up" In a Noel interview about all these new albums coming out this spring, blah blah.. when Colplay were mentioned he said "NO COMPETITION .." (you know HIM, in a real matter-of-fact way" and moved onto the next topic LIAM is Godlike . In the live Coldplay DVD , the documentary part, Chris M. goes on talking about his dress/clothes style and references what Liam said "The whole knobhead - bunch of students, looks like a geography teacher, etc. WHICJ IS FUNNY AS SHIT BTW, so THEN they try to laugh it off, BUT YOU KNOW CHRIS M. is sensitive as shit and it probly really bothers him.. Oh well.. (I love Chris BTW..) BUT AGAIN, NO COMPETITION. Soft rock.. Be well, Tamara

Ok folks this is the deal. According to the RIAA, Coldplay sold 2+ Million of Parachutes & 3+ Million of ....Rush to the Head.
Clocks was a gold (500,000) single.
Oasis has sold 1+ Million of DM, 4+ million of WTSMG, 1+ million of BHN.
The last two however have sold like 150,000 each.
So unless there is a big single or the tour goes over well or there are major write ups by US mags, DBTT will sell like 200,000.
This tour is huge so I woul imagine it might go gold. Hit singles sell albums in U.S.
Hell chumbawumba sold 3 million albums just b/c of tubthumping.
People don't buy singles in US like UK.

i want to get back to the question. yes, oasis are better. oasis fuckin invented coldplay, c'mon. that xfm link with 16 million is bollocks. if thats true gwyneth fuckin paltrow and her rich dad bought 10 million of em. there was no massive hype about coldplay at any given point. fuck this question alone disturbs me, are the fuckin boo fuckin radleys better than oasis?
