ahhh no band, even a band as great as Oasis are able to please all their fans and every other music fan with a single.
i'm well into it though...
his voice is back!!! ;D very hot.

It's definitely a grower, isn't it? After the first listen I thought it was pretty pants to be honest but I'm getting into it a bit more now. At first I kept waiting for the song to kick into another gear which never arrived. It's maybe a bit too one-paced for my liking. I can see why people are saying it sounds like a B-side from the Morning Glory/Be Here Now era. Good chorus though, and it's pretty summery. If it's only the fifth best song on the album I can definitely live with that  |

yeah, i dunno much about music production and all but i think it needs to be more....messy. i dont know, just more guitars and funky effects (lol go my technical terms...). i suppose that what seems to be different from the older albums, just the aura (which i suppose comes from how its produced) makes it seem more loud and raw. with Heathen Chemistry and now with Lyla its like...all fancy and clean.
and i agree with themanwithnoname....i was waiting for it to pick up but nooo! the only thing is, cos it doesnt really climax or anything, it just becomes part of the background after awhile...or maybe thats cos i listened to it so many times
ha ha. all that said, i really like the song =)

^^^^ i know exactly what you mean about the whole "messy" production deal....but DM was pretty much the only one like that. MG got a cleaner sound and everything after was the same. But I think it works well with HC and the rest of them....i couldn't imagine HC "messy". 'Born on a Different Cloud' and 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out' wouldn't sound the same. But that's just my opininion. And from the version of 'Lyla' that I have , it's hard to tell the type of production. But 'Lyla' is pretty damn good if I may say so myself.

i´m happy about the new song, but there´s something better to me... listen it carefully... ok, noel said it wasn´t even the 5th best song in the album...
for me, lyla would be the third best song in HC, the 4th in SOTSOG and the 5th in BHN... so, i think we can expect a better album than the last three ones...

am i the only one disappointed with lyla ? was expectin much better to be honest and its not as good as any o f the 1st singles off any albums Oh thank God it's not just me. I hate being unique! It's growing on me. But the initial reaction from the music industry is that Oasis is dead. |
