It's funny how your dreams Change as you're growing old You don't wanna be no spaceman You just want gold Dream stealers Are lying in wait But if you wanna be a spaceman It's still not too late D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman is lyrically fantastic, in the most wistful, whimsical, and charming early-Noel way. Love that track.

Not the best, but one I like...
"The clouds around your soul don't gather there for nothin', But I can chase them all away. Why d'you need a reason for to feel happy?"

"Kiss the girl, she's not behind the door"
As blatantly obvious as this line from Roll With It seems, I think it really captures the essence of what Oasis were about. At least to me. It's a metaphor so nearby, it took me almost 15 years to realise the brilliant imagery of it. And I've had my fair share of literature studies. This is Noel poetry at its best.

Already said hundred times, but Cast No Shadow does have amazing lyrics. Great melody, great vocals, great lyrics, great song.

Okay I'm lost, what did you realize about the brilliant imagery in that lyric? I get the feeling that I'm on the verge of figuring out, but I'm like to hear what you're thinking it's like. (OT, but yay to the old emojis being back and better than ever! )

The line will hit you too, sometime! No, really, it's a great analogy for this "conquering the world" mentality, Oasis had from the start. If you have a goal, than get up and (at least try) to reach it, because everything can be done. That's the sentiment I get.

Ahhh, I never really thought about that line until now either. It’s brilliant!
I was listening to DOYS yesterday and finally understood Falling Down after 7 years. It kinda made me sad because it’s true.

The "kiss the girl" lyric was one of the first Oasis lyrics I really thought about, back when I first discovered the band.

The girl is right there in front of you for you to have, so just kiss her already. You know, roll with it, don't let anything get in your way.

Take the chance, don't hide, you'll never know unless you risk it, everything is possible if only you try etc. etc. And I think "Kiss the girl, she's not behind the door" is the exact opposite of the platitudes above and the sunshine/rain imagery Noel usually uses. It's beautiful. The line might work better in terms of identification for males tough.

I wanna live, I don't wanna die.
It's simple, but powerful. And the delivery makes it even better.

and i bow down to the tears of a clown whatever's going down is coming around
you're the uninvited guest who stays 'till the end i know you've got a problem that the devil sends
and it's never gonna be the same 'cause the years are falling by like the rain
when you take my soul don't take my pride
there's nothing more to be if you could be the remedy who heals love
there are many things that I would like to know and there are many places that I wish to go but everything's depending on the way the wind may blow

I tried to talk to God to no avail, Calling my name, and out of nowhere, I said "If you won't save me, please don't waste my time"

So many great lyrics, so rather than pick one I shall leave it to Mr Nicky Wire from a joint interview with Noel from 2014. After that quote if you haven't heard the full interview listen to it from the start, some great Nicky and Noel anecdotes from their times touring together

"Is it worth the aggravation to find yourself a job when there's nothing worth working for?" and "Now is not the time to cry, now's the time to find out why."
My two favorite lyrics that I held as my motto as well.

"There'll never be enough to learn The river's deep and the road is long And every which way we turn Always seems insane But it makes me feel alive" From the B-side Shout It Out Loud, kinda different but a really great song, I think it should've been better as an A-side
