Totally agree. How good do people expect a performance to be in a TV studio. To all the whining children on here, fuck off and put your rick astley albums on and stop pretending to like the greatest band in the world because you think it makes you look cool. Most of you wouldn't know a fucking chord if it punched you in the mouth, hopefully soon something will. TWATS. *end of fucking rant* anyone who thinks that was a good performane is a stupid little fanboy. I love oasis, but it wasn't a good performance, one of their worst. That's a fact.

I'm not fucking saying it was a great performance but its bloody impossible to judge a Tv studio performance unless of course you believe yourself to be an acoustics expert. Careful who you call a fan boy, tosser. Unlike a lot of folk on here i'm not about to make assumptions based upon an appearance on the bloody jonathon ross show. Face it some of the comments made on here based upon that performance have been nothing short of ludicrous.

ya. on My Generation the voice is supposed to crack at that one part. I think his voice cracks everytime Liam sings My Generation. I still can't understand Liam's vocals from the performance last night. Lyla didn't sound very good, but once they played My Generation, Liam sounded amazing.

i've only heard it and haven't seen the show... i think liam's voice in lyla is a bit raw (some of you are being very harsh) but far better than in SCYHO in poole or glastonbury... no comparison...i just cant listen to these version of SCYHO or songbird in CD:UK apart from liam's voice lyla sounds great, noel is great my generation is pretty good...after lyla liam's voice has sweetened a bit... and i think liam can be really nervous...after all these years and all the bad press...there's so much at stake...

...and you must be mr pissys' bumboy. Please read what other people have posted before ramming you dick up other peoples arses. It was never stated as a great perfromance, but to judge a TV studio appearance like some of the idiots on here is dumb. Unreal how many times this needs to be repeated. Whats wrong doesn't anyone understand basic English. I've have now watched the performance a few times and still do not think it is a bad as some people say. This is my "opinion" something that people are allowed in a free and democratic world. By having an opinion that differs to others does not mean it is wrong or that you are a "fanboy" ( what a dumb fucking phrase that is), it simply means you have a differing opinion and maybe, who knows, a better musical knowledge than others. Guess what live music doesn't sound like it does on the album. Lyla started badly but improved, how can you base an opinion on a song that you've heard once live, watch it a few more times then give an opinion. My generation was, imo, very good. It is fucking unreal how far up your own arses some people are on this board.

If people can't take it they damn well shouldn't give it.

read what you wrote - and i didnt give any Fair point, but I'm fed up of reading the, they were shit angle. I personally thought it was a bit ropey at first. However after watching it a couple of times i actually thought it wasn't to bad. I'll try and keep the abuse down in future but, no promises as I usually type the first thing that comes into my head. After 37 years on this planet I'm still to find a substitute for the word fuck.

Right, i've been offline for a few days. This was my take on Jonathan Ross after mulling it over.
The performence of Lyla was poor, there just didn't seem to be any energy. Liam's problem was not anything to do with not being able to hit the high notes, he was just very, very flat for the first minute and a half, which says to me there was possibly a problem with his earpiece, because when Noel was singing too, in the harmonies, Liam was getting his notes better.
My Generation though, was a huge improvement, not that it was fantastic, but all the energy was back, the presence was totally different. And thank god for that, because they won themselves no new fans with a poor version of lyla.

being able to hear yourself has alot to do with keeping your voice in tune while singing, ever tried it yourself?? if the volume is so loud you cant hear your voice, how are you supposed to be able to tell if you're on or not, it is really difficult unless you're a trained singer, which neither Bono or Liam is... theres a purpose for those speakers pointing back at the singer on stage (forget what theyre called, monitors maybe?) they're so you can hear yourself!
but on that note, i'm not making excuses for his performance, i havent even heard it yet (can't download on my school's computer)
just saying, if that were the case, it's a plausible explanation... maybe he could hear Noel better than he could hear himself (hence sounding better when Noel was backing him up)
i'll reserve my judgements till i hear it tonight... :-)

After all the rants about the performance....I aint going there.
I do have very serious concerns about Liams strides?
Very very worrying....

Which he did. They have performed in enough TV studios over the years to know the score - they would have had time to soundcheck. Liam just turned in a bad performance. Shit happens.

hey if you read my post all the way through i said... "but on that note, i'm not making excuses for his performance, i havent even heard it yet"
so anyway, i just listened to it, and i think it's pretty good, even tho intro, the only part wheres he's too off for my ears is the very first time he gets to the "stars about to fall!" part
but thats just me

Tut-Tut, details, details! Why does everyone have to analyse this fucking Jonathan Ross show? Have some of you recorded it and played it back over and over again just to hear whether or not Liams voice is outta tune!?
Fucking hell, think about it....When you go to an Oasis gig you dont stand there and listen to whether Liams voice is out of tune (do you?). As Noel once said '(at an Oasis gig) you can put your arm around your best mate and fucking AVE IT!!'. Thats what Oasis are about. Having a good time. Give a shit whether Liam was slightly out of tune at the start of the song. Thats what pitch-perfect boy bands are about, hitting the high notes and all that. Fuck it, its Oasis and they're rock n roll.
Imagine a load of Sex Pistols fans at a gig in '79 going 'oh, Johnny was a bit flat when he sang GOD SAVE THE QUEEEN!' No? Neither can I!
