i think people on this forum need to realise that oasis arent the only band out there. i am one of the biggest oasis fans around.. have been since the 'whatever' single was out. but i can admit that other bands are now better. coldplays new album is fucking stunning.. and it kicks the shit out of 'dont believe the truth'. dont get me wrong.. i really do like the new oasis record.. but coldplay have become probobly the biggest band in the world.. they will be the next u2! I like other bamds as well. Coldplay just aren't for me.

A few reactions from me:
First of all, the new album Coldplay album is amazing and their best effort so far. Oasis is my favourite group and I find DBTT better, but it is a close one. I bought X&Y today and listened to it when I took my bicycle and went to ride around some lakes. Volume maximum and I got it.
I agree that some songs have a slight U2 feeling on it, but Coldplay is very different from U2. U2 is a shitband with a hyprocrite pope admirer. They are not musicians for the normal people but for royal people and the elite.
I feel lucky, lucky that I bought two great cd's in 8 days.

what do you people hear in coldplay? I just don't like them, none of my friends do...They just arent my cup of tea it must be martins voice...irritating to the last.
Frankly its the lack of guitar that makes them un rock n roll to me

LOVE COLDPLAY - Chris Martin is a genious. His passion, lyrics, musical abilities , his energy and clarity.. Amazing ! ( my heart does belong to Oasis though for personal reasons , and as the years go by I become more impressed and appreciative of their simplicity.. Chris M agrees.) anway, a US perspective...JUST freaks me how big they are here in the states - the next thing ya know - there'll be a COLDPLAY kids' meal at McDonald's with action figures. I am afraid it's all gonna freak him out big time. Maybe not ? I am happy for them, they clearly WON america and I suppose we need a voice here, more than ever. I just wish they weren't marketed like a product here, and other bands too, bec. they are far more important than that, as is Oasis ... I guess it's out of Chris' control .. my 2 cents..

I would be a happy gay man sleeping with Gwyneth Paltrow every night.
Now, as for the music... X&Y has quite a few songs that I like, my favorite is the end bit on 'Low' at around 3:30. But stuff like 'The Hardest Part' is among the most annoying music I ever heard in my life, I would say it's just an okay album with great moments.
Comparing to DBTT... the comparison is nonsense, Oasis has a rock album and Coldplay a pop album. Though I find myself quite surprised to see so many members on this forum (and moderators) who are more into Coldplay.
And one last thing... in my opinion Coldplay will not be bigger than it is today, their next album (should they make one) will sell less than the current one. Which means absolutely nothing, it will probably be a lot better in terms of quality.

First of all, there's nothing wrong with Coldplay, and there's nothing wrong with gay people. Coldplay follows their heart, and gay people do to (no, this is not ment as a comparment or so). Oasis are following their heart to, and are they gay ? Well, definitely NOT! Secondly, the only bands which in my opinion are gay, are bands like Queen, Placebo, Muse, ow, and well, ofcourse The Village People whahaha . The first three bands are not bad at all, so even if Coldplay was gay, would it matter ? Then third, my opinion is that X & Y is a good album. I might expected a bit more, to be honest. Don't think this one is as good as the first two albums. But still a great album. And finally, I'm against using the word "gay" as a negative thing. Those people already got it hard enough, so why don't we just let them be as they are, and give them some peace and rest in their lives. Be real, follow your hearts and respect one and other. Power to the people and live forever, that's all ... CHEERS !
