The album leaked yesterday. I've done 3 full listens. I'm kinda disappointed in the aspect that it sounds so similar to their previous album and Tweedy's two solo albums from 2018 and 2019. This almost sounds like a Tweedy solo album to be honest. Its very subtle. Less like a band playing. Hush vocals all the time which isn't a bad thing but more of his solo style. The album does have its highlights. "Love Is Everywhere (Beware)" and "Everyone Hides" are pure Wilco magic. Immediate singles material. The only real guitar freak out on the album is "We Were Lucky". Evokes memory of the bands playing on A Ghost Is Born. A very underrated album and period for the band. That's a little disappointing, still gonna buy the album on Friday... I like some of Jeff Tweedy's solo stuff, but prefer full blast Wilco......too much talent in that band to try to hold it back. Thanks. The book he wrote last year is also excellent. |

Listened to more YouTube generated Wilco again. I like this band and want to be more familiar with their work. Thus far, Sky Blue Sky seems to be the album I will like most, judging by the songs that get the most reaction in me.

Listened to Being There today, it was quite good. Reminded me a lot of the Replacements from the very beginning with Misunderstood but also very 90s. That record made me really miss those days.
The standout tracks to me were Misunderstood, far far away, hotel Arizona, and I quite liked Kingpin too.
