Personally i'm not. Conglomerates, multinational corporations and goverments will always rip off the little people. and i don't give a flying fuck what chris martin thinks. I don't care if someone got payed fuck all to pack my microwave lasagne as long as it tastes good. I'm sick of anti-capitalist spitting there hypocritical venom everywhere.Long Live Big Business

whatever you think mate.. great comeback. lol - and this guy works for maketradefair.com.... ;D I am in favour of fair trade - but i do dislike the anti-capitalist brigade. Hypocritical is the word. Its amazing how many anti-capitalists will eat at McDonalds, drink at Starbucks, use the microsoft Windows operating system.... I do care if people are being exploited to make me products. But on the opposite side of the coin, if those people werent making me products (for whatever wage) they simply wouldnt have jobs at all But long live big business! I completely agree!! Or would you all prefer it if we lived it poverty? Interesting fact - the US has never fought a war with any country that has a McDonalds... PS - men are by far the better cooks.

Thank you. in all honesty i do care that people get paid a fare wage but i don't like it being shoved in my face. i know so many people who are going on the mayday march moaning about capitalism whilst they sit in a pub drinking pints of Carling,in their nike trainers, whilst watching sky sports and when i point that out to them they go on the defensive like all leftys do. perfect example was the anti-bush demo in london. that made me so embarresed to be british. i'm sick of idiots making otu bush to be the villain. we know he wants the oil but Sepratist muslim leaders such as hussein and terrorist like Bin laden are a threat. now maketradefair what do you make of that
probably a "ok whatever"

i know so many people who are going on the mayday march moaning about capitalism whilst they sit in a pub drinking pints of Carling,in their nike trainers, whilst watching sky sports and when i point that out to them they go on the defensive like all leftys do. oh yeah the Mayday riot!! ;D one of the funniest days of the year (always good seeing hippies getting beaten by policemen...) Yeah hypocritical lefties are just impossible to have an intelligent discussion with. They always fall back on the high social ground and start abusing you for not caring or being a 'tory' Its always good talking to some people about Margaret Thatcher - they say she's the worst prime minister we ever had, she ruined the country etc etc etc.... i just turn to them and say - how? i've never had an intelligent response to that question... those anti-bush marches got on my nerves too. I'm all for people expressing their views and making their voices heard, but the media portrayed it as if the majority of the country felt the same way. bollox. I've never understood this "Bush wants their oil" thing? Can someone (pro or anti bush) please explain it to me. The logic of the argument escapes me.....

my pleasure. Bush is a Texan. Texas has the largest unmined oil reserves in the planet. to raise the price of this america tends to try and plunder other countries recources(the same as in any business: raise one companies stock in your sector and yours should rise) they've always had agendas with oil producing nations eg: Saudi Arabia and Iraq. but people who seem to think that this is the sole reason for war in iraq, afghanistan etc but fail to see the blatant tyranny in their faces

Texas has the largest unmined oil reserves in the planet. Is this true? anyone? i've just checked around the web and cant find anything that backs this statement up. Frankly i find it very hard to believe. Saudi Arabia has the largest reserves from what i see. And South America seems to have the largest unmined or as yet undiscovered reserves Begs the question - why is Bush trying to drill for oil in alaska (against strong opposition) when he could get it easily from his own backyard? America is the biggest oil consumer in the world- why would they want to raise the price of a product of which they use the most?? personaly i think they want a free Iraq so that it can produce more barrels of oil a day and bring down the world price - regardless of america's own relatively limited reserves Anyway, we have enough oil to last for centuries - anyone believeing oil is the main reason behind america's middle eastern foreign policy, is a little off the mark imo

im all for fair trade. Im trying to get my mum to stop buying nescafe but she's having none of it. It just doesnt make me feel good to buy something off a company who ripp people off. I think if the world was able to put themselves into other peoples positions then people would be queing up to support fair trade and similar charities.

couldnt have phrased it better myself columbia! Too fucking right you couldnt, you call yourself maketradefair but you havnt got a clue!! When debating the issue with JayG's nemesis all you could say was "Whatever you think mate" and "Your just trying to start an argument". So stop relying on other people comments and put forward your own without accusing someone of starting an argument when all they have done is won the debate.
