Offcourse were stealing from artists, they've got that much f*cking money that we think its alright to steal from them, now im not gonna say that we shouldn't download songs for free off things like kazza and napster becuase that would be totaly hypacritical,at the moment these things arn't reall effecting cd sales but if ripping songs becomes a more frequent thing i belive that some artists and music corperations could be greatly effected, and the things is do you want to buy a cd for 30 dollars when you can get it off the internet for nothing,so i think this is an increasingly big issue in the music industry, just a thought, only an opinion, rock on ppl

I don't think you can call it stealing. If you really like an album you'll go out and buy it anyway. It's a good way to get to know new music and all that so I say keep it up!

I dont think the way I take songs off the interenet is stealing at all , its true if there are unreleadsed songs like Solve My Mystery or just acoustic versions that will never come out - how is that stealing ?
The band(S) would make no money out of them anyway , and if they were really against it why play on the radio when they know it will be bootlegged?
Maybe the best way around it would be `official bootlegs` the band make unreleased compilations and put them out - then the fans get the songs and the band get money

People should be able to see wether a cd is worth buying or not. Whenever I truly like something, Im willing to go out and buy it. Kazzaa/Napster has made buying a cd for one decent song a lot less frequent.

its fine to download music but burning a cd by a band and calling it the cd is stupid. Go out and buy the dam cd, i hate how everyone burns cds now, i have thousands of mp3's but not one single burnt cd that has been released by an artist, its not fair to the artists, in the end if you burn a cd by an artist you like you are only doing harm to their future as a band

I don’t remember the last time I paid, or even downloaded a song.
I stream music through YouTube Premium. Life in 2024.

Correct, all streaming sites are not free these days I don't think. I only get Amazon Music free is because I have Amazon Prime and I still have to pay for that.

I only get Amazon Music free is because I have Amazon Prime and I still have to pay for that. There's just something about streaming that doesn't appeal to me. Also the fact that you're at the mercy of the service provider, prices might go up and albums and songs might disappear from the catalog. It's good though that there are plenty of options for everyone how to listen to music.

That's true but I make my own play lists rather than listen to albums apart from all of the Oasis, Liam and Noel ones. And, it's not bad if a streaming music site is free like Amazon Music now is with prime.

Ya’ll, we used to spend $20 on a single album. And that’s $20 from 2005! That’s wild.

Ya’ll, we used to spend $20 on a single album. And that’s $20 from 2005! That’s wild. That's quite a lot. I don't know how much it is in dollars, but usually if I buy an album from Qobuz or Bandcamp it is between 8-18 EUR. I've bought quite a lot of albums in the last two years because I wanted to update my favourite albums to FLAC. Most of them used to be low-res MP3s, because back in the day when I converted from CD to digital I was stupid and didn't use the best quality. I no longer have a physical CD collection. But now I have pretty much bought and updated everything that I wanted, so spending money on music is pretty much over. Of course I buy an odd album every now and then if there's something very interesting out there, but I mostly listen to my old catalog anyway. I totally get it if you listen to tons of new albums and tracks every week then streaming absolutely makes sense.
