posted up on msnbc, apparently he has a 3 team wish list, 2 being NY and Chicago As much as I cant stand Kobe, it would be nice to see The Knicks finally stop sucking so much ass. Marbury is literally getting overpaid to have NY suck even more. Yeah, Kobe would be worth every million.

problem is any team with a real chance at a championship would be gutted in order to get Kobe. They would have to give up so much it almost wouldn't be worth it. The Knicks aren't any good as it is so I doubt he would go there, and Chicago would have to give up Deng and so much more. If they could some how hang on to Ben Wallace and get Kobe that might be worth it but I don't know.
Maybe it's just dreaming but I would sure like to see the Rockets trade Tracy McGrady and maybe a couple no-names for him. That to me would be a positive outcome for both teams, but I doubt the Lakers are going to want to allow Kobe to go to another western conference team.

Just once I'd like to see a great athlete pass up the BIG bucks for a chance at forming a great championship caliber team... Unfortunately, with Kobe already having 3 rings, I doubt he will be the exception to the rule...
ps. Yo Meanstreak.... I take it you're a Rockets fan.? Let me ask, are you lot happy with McGrady's play and attitude? Really curious about that. When he broke into the league with the Raptors I had high hopes for him. Still do, I guess.

The only a way a trade with Kobe would develop is if it was either extremely lopsided (Kobe for a bunch of other guys), or more than two teams are involved.
Even the lopsided trade would be hard because of salary cap issues.
I kind of understand where Kobe is coming from with his demands. Since Shaq left, they really haven't done much to improve their team. They got shit in return for shaq and it didn't work out too well in the long run, and they keep passing up on good free agents.
If they can somehow land Jermaine O'Neal then maybe Kobe would back off his demads. But it seems now that the damage has been done from what has been said recently, so I don't see him being happy til he gets traded.

Ya, I would say I'm 90% happy with T-Mac, and proably 90% happy with Yao. The Rockets have been a quality regular season team and when both are healthy seriously good, but they have ust seemed to melt when playoff time comes (which has ben true about t-mac forever i guess.) Definately better than steve francis as well.
Hopefully rick adelman will be able to put them into a better offensive mindset, van gundy was a defense first kind of coach but I think yao and t-mac are more offensive minded players and they just couldn't make van gundy's system work in the playoffs. We will see!
edit - Well, Tim Duncan could undoubtedly gotten way more money from, say, the lakers or the knicks, but he stayed in San Antonio to keep a champ caliber team together! Does that count? And didn't Karl Malone take the league minimum for his years of experience when he played for the Lakers trying to win the title?

Right you are, Meanstreak. I kind of forgot about Duncan saying no to the Lakers and that. And well, Fuck Karl Malone altogether.

Right you are, Meanstreak. I kind of forgot about Duncan saying no to the Lakers and that. And well, Fuck Karl Malone altogether. ya, Malone only did that because he wnated to win a title and the lakers were so strapped by the salary cap they could not have paid him any more (it was still like 1.2 mil for his nearly 20 years in the league) but he ended up sitting the bench most of the year and I think the finals as well that year didn't he?

Yes, I believe he did. And I loved every minute of it. I've been a massive Bulls fan for nearly 20 years, so that's kinda where my hatred for Karl Malone stemmed.

ya I always disliked Malone because of his extra hard elbows, not necessary at all! It was nice to see the Rockets keeping the Jazz out of the finals for many years during the 90s!
So if you are a big Bulls fan then you would be happy to see Kobe go there! I think they are his first choice.

Yeah, I'd be real happy if Kobe became a Bull... There's a lot of MJ in Kobe so I don't think I'd be the only Bulls fan that would welcome Kobe to Chi-town. Maybe he could bring Phil with him. ;D

Hmmm some strong trade rumors today
4 teams involved: Celtics, Pacers, T-Wolves, and Lakers
Sounded like Kobe would stay in LA and Garnett to LA Jermaine O'Neal to Celtics Al Jefferson and Celtics #5 pick this year to T-Wolves Lamar Odom and someone else to Pacers
As a T-Wolves fan I'd like to see it. Hate to see KG leave but getting Jefferson and the #5 pick is appealing, seeing we have the #7 pick as well And I'd like to see KG have a better chance to win a title. Not gonna happen anytime soon in Minnesota
