Schwarzer hits out at Guus Hiddink Socceroos goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer says he was baffled by the methods of Australia's 2006 World Cup coach Guus Hiddink and has accused the Dutchman of lacking man-management skills. The Middlesbrough goalkeeper was dropped twice in a month by Hiddink, against Greece at the MCG in Australia's last match before leaving for Germany, and against Croatia in the last preliminary game at Stuttgart on June 22. ADVERTISEMENT In an interview published in Tuesday's The Australian newspaper, Schwarzer admitted the situation left him in an emotional mess. "There were days when I'd search for answers and wondered what was happening," said Schwarzer, who will play for Australia in Saturday's friendly against Paraguay in Brisbane. "I'd ask myself what I had done wrong..." Schwarzer, who will launch his World Cup diary on Tuesday, says his main concern was Hiddink's reluctance to reveal selections to himself and rival Zeljko Kalac until just hours before a match. Schwarzer told the newspaper Hiddink, now with Russia, was a great coach who had achieved wonderful things with the Socceroos. "However he surprised me with how he approached the goalkeeping situation," Schwarzer said. "I think that, in some respects, he showed a lack of man-management skills and a lack of appreciation of what players need in terms of getting ready mentally and emotionally for a big match. "I could never understand why he would name the team just hours before kick-off ... The situation not only hurt me, but it hurt Spider (Kalac) as well. "I don't think it did us any favours at all." au.news.yahoo.com/060905/2/10eye.html?f=mv

What is he moaning about? Guus is probably the best manager in the world and did a superb job guiding Australia through to the second round! They were unlucky to go out to the eventual winners too! He should try being managed by Sven Gormless Erikson ffs!
