Manager signs new deal Hibernian FC can this morning confirm that Manager Tony Mowbray and Assistant Manager Mark Venus have signed new extended contracts with the Club. These new contracts take the form of rolling 12 month contracts which take effect from 1st July 2007.
Commenting Tony Mowbray said today: “We all witnessed the intense press speculation over the summer regarding my future at the Club and whilst I’ve always been very open regarding my long term goals, I was keen to remove that uncertainty and allow us all at the Club to move forward.
“I genuinely believe Hibernian Football Club is moving into an exciting era: our talented players have all signed long term contracts; we are progressing with the plans to establish a dedicated training facility at East Mains, which I’ve always believed to be very important in the development of our players; we’ve also further strengthened the coaching staff with the addition of Mark Proctor.
"I’m also delighted that Mark Venus agreed to extend his contract, so that Mark and I along with John Park and everyone in the football coaching team, including fitness and goalkeeping coaches can move forward together as a team and realise our ambitions together.”
Chairman Rod Petrie commented: "Tony and Mark joined the Club in 2004 and have been very effective in applying their football philosophy and principles. Every Hibernian supporter can see the great progress made over the last two years. Naturally, the Board is delighted that both Tony and Mark have signed new rolling contracts with the Club. eee.hibernian.co.uk Hibbies for the win on Sunday ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D (sorry globe)
