depends who blinks first.... I wouldn't be surprised if a deal was done on the last day of the transfer window

I'd imagine Chelsea are quite concerned... With issues going on with Gallas, they're weakest at left back.... Moaninho doesn't trust Wayne Bridge, (just look at the Charity Shield - put the much maligned Ferrera out of position at left back, and geremi right back)

Monaco have come out and said they want £21m+ for Abigdal (Chelsea's other option after Cole)

I reckon Chelsea will pay between £23m & £25m for Cole

Cole omitted from Arsenal squad

Arsenal defender Ashley Cole has been omitted from the Gunners' squad for the Premiership opener against Aston Villa despite saying he is available to play.
The 25-year-old has repeatedly been linked with a move to Chelsea, but no deal has been concluded.

Cole said on www.stellargroup.co.uk that he was available for Saturday's game at the Emirates Stadium.
