Juventus will be demoted to Serie B, with a deduction of fifteen points, for their part in the match-fixing scandal that has rocked Italy, according to reports.
Fiorentina and Lazio are also set to be demoted when the official verdict from the trial is announced later today.
While reports in the Italian press claim that AC Milan will not suffer a similar fate, they will be chucked out of the Champions League – as will both Juve and Fiorentina.
It remains unclear which club will be adjudged to have 'won' Serie A last season. Juve will be stripped of the championship, but it is inconceivable that it would then be handed to the tainted Milan instead. City rivals Inter Milan, who finished third, may yet be handed their first title since 1989.
Although Juve have publicly vowed not to sell their star players in the event of relegation, demotion to Serie B is expected to cost the club £50m in lost revenue and could prompt the Turin giants to sell as many as seven first-team players
****************************************************
Apperently Juve are going to refuse to sell there stars for cut price, and try and loan them out instead. Good Luck!

Serie A sides Juventus, Lazio and Fiorentina have been demoted to the second division for their involvement in Italy's match-fixing scandal.
AC Milan will stay in Serie A but will lose 15 points and will be kicked out of the Champions League.
Juventus were also stripped of their last two titles and had 30 points deducted meaning that they are almost certain to stay down for two seasons.
Lazio were penalised seven points while Fiorentina suffered a 12 point penalty.
More to follow.

Excellent. It's good to see a board going strict and not ducking out because of the world cup.

hey todpdog, hadn't seen you for ages it's great man.... fucking cheating bastards. I hate juve with a passio, I'm ineter milan fan btw..... it's possible that inter will have the scudetto for 05-06 and the 04-05 will not be given to any team.... I feel sorry for Fiorentina and Lazio though, they committed a very dumb mistake after being robbed all season long by Moggi, especially Fiore, it's a shame, Milan also had a very severe sanction imo considering what they did. it's a shame that after all this years Inter's first scudetto in almos 20 years comes like this, but it was the fair thing to do

Yay, another Interista I hope this is the standard from now on. If Man Utd or Chelsea do something of the similar kind I will be appalled if they get off with a fine. Point deduction is the way forward and serious allegations should call for relegation. Yes mate, I think it's a shame that Inter will win the Serie A this way. I hoped that we would win it over a proper, clean season but it's fair. But I won't be celebrating it. I'll wait till we win a proper Serie A although with Juventus gone the league will feel a bit weird seeing as that will leave Inter as the only team never to have been relegated.

these clubs are getting what they deserved, first of all -30points for juve, that keeps them away from serie A for at least two seasons.
but what im dissapointed in is that AC milan have got of lightly just -15 points for next season, apparently there owner berlesconi or what ever you call him, threatened to take away the tv rights for the league for next season, since he owns the channels, if im not mistaken milan have got off for using the exact same tactics that have got them in trouble in the first place.
and the last two seasons in italian football are being took off record, no team will be awarded the leagues titles that have been took off juve

the only fault by AC Milan was calling to the referee's delegate and protest over bad referee's.... they asked for honest linesmen and the delegate who along with Moggi manipulated the election of referees suggested 2 names that were approved by UEFA, the accepted, and that's that..... imo this is too severe on AC Milan...
Now Inter does have to win the Scudetto, I mean if they don't, who will? maybe roma but it would be a shame for inter not winning this time... and as topdog says, Inter is the only team to have never been relegated!!!!

I can see Juve's points deduction being halved on appeal, which would give them a good chance for promotion....
Hope they keep it at -30 though, the cheating bastards!

the first 6 teams in serie B play a playoff match for promotion to serie A so still with a 30 point deduction which will probably be cut to half Juve has a good chance of returning to serie A next season, that's why they should've been demoted to serie C, but they won't risk Juve's existence cos they have too many fans and a lot of power.... it's a shame

The biggest shame is that Milan won't get relegated. The punishment they got is ridiculous considering their involvment in this shit They got a penalty of -44 points for Serie A 2005-06 (and be careful everyone, they will probably play next UEFA Cup because 88-44=44, enough points to get a place in the Cup ) No relegation, only 15 points of penalty for next Serie A, they'll probably play next UEFA Cup... Do they really consider this a punishment? I can see Juve's points deduction being halved on appeal, which would give them a good chance for promotion.... Hope they keep it at -30 though, the cheating bastards! Same here... A soft penalty, as I expected Those bastards can manage to go back in Serie A in 1 year and it's desrespectful towards the honest teams. FORZA ROMA

I thought it was a joke, as I heard Milan would stay in A - brashness Juve only in B? no suprisce, they didn't have the courage to put them in to C, so they gave them a 30-pointy-penalty Lazio in B? "Siamo sempre con voi Siamo sempre con voi no ti lasceremo mai!" btw: Roma merda!!!
