Liverpool and Wales footballer Craig Bellamy has been charged with assaulting a teenage girl in a nightclub in Cardiff.
The striker, who has just signed for Liverpool for £6m, is accused of assaulting the 19-year-old girl.

Mr Bellamy, 26, was arrested by police in March after the young woman claimed he struck her inside the Number 10 nightclub in Cardiff.

South Wales Police confirmed Mr Bellamy had been charged.

They said the charge followed consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service.

Mr Bellamy was arrested along with another man in connection with the allegation.

Police said no action had been taken against the other male. Mr Bellamy's agent Steve Horner said he "had nothing to say" in connection with the alleged assault.
