shame about the result, but im proud of the boys to play with 10 men for basically the entire game, and almost win it, shows something. Yeh Barca were better, cos of that extra man, but i think we deserved to win it....the spirit, and the class of Arsenal was there today...just lacking that end product of Henry But i hope the lads put the defeat behind them. They will only get better. Although i now fear for Henry's future. i was 100% certain he was going to stay....but today he had a few heated discussions with AW during the game (apparenlty he wanted Hleb off sooner)...but he was ignored.... but to base his decision on 1 game/1 season, would be v poor of him...we'll see, it's still anyone's guess well done barca, you beat the 10 men of Arsenal, with their reserve keeper, and with the Ref slightly favouring you....i guess you can say Barca deserved it? we had 15mins....thats all we needed....and i WILL pick on AW here....his subs suck. I've said it before. Reyes wont do anything with 4 mins to play, and why bring on Flamini for Fab, who was having a great game

That Ref was a farce.
Ronaldinho was shite. He froze.

I think Fabregas was very tired, he was no longer running after ronaldinho and Arsebal were still ahead so I think AW tried to keep a strong defense..... I think Hleb played a great game. he was one of the players who ran the most, and if you see Barca's attack on the left wing was controlled most of the time it was because of Hleb, he was also very tired at the end. good game, it would've been nice to see Arsenal with ten men, I also think it was a shame Henry missed 2 chances he usually never misses. all in all a decent final, not vey well played but emotional, and well done by Barca

agreed, but just pointing out what was said on ESPN2
what pisses me off is that he wont say anthing about his future. Clearly he knows what he wants to do. You only have to look to our CL form, and the way we clinched 4th, to see our ambition and potential, and all he has to do is look at the fans, he wont get that appreciation any where else.
If i was him, i would stay with a club that means so much to him and him meaning so much to the club.
btw, this ref was the SAME ref who sent Del Horno off vs. BARCA. Horrible ref. Red card? yeh, no question. but how many times did Barca get off without a foul/without a card...horrible....
The result isnt really dissapointing. I'm not angry or upset as i have been when we lose to Utd/Chelsea/WBA....we battled hard, and Barca themselves didnt cheat. It was a fair game, albeit 10 vs 11, but was played so well that Barca's extra man was hardly noticable (until the 75min) which speaks volumes of Arsenals performance.
It would have been nice to win it, and cememnt the CL 900+ mins w/o conceding, and the great victories over Real and Juve, along with Jen's last min pen save, into history. It was almost meant to be for us to win it. We deserved to win it on so many levels, but at the end of the day - credit to Barca.
The 2005/2006 season ends, roll on the World Cup and the 2006/2007 season at Emirates Stadium.
Every season is like a story. Let's hope next years will be better. Although 2005/2006 did have many memorable times, just no trophy to show...we've been trophyless under AW before, it's not THAT big of a shock....

Arsenal was no match for Barcelona. Yeah, they might have had their chances now and then, but only because the Blaugranas were on the attack. The referee was a scoundrel though.

Barca's sub made the difference.
Thats where the difference was. 10 men can only hold off for so long.
Barca deserved it, glad they won even tho i dont like them

I might actually cry if we win. i'm not far off it Yeah mate. If I had been at home and not in a pub I would have. That was damn unlucky, the ref was a complete shitbag. I thought we showed amazing spirit given the circumstances. Almunia was actually better than I remembered him to be ;D Felt so fucking sorry for Bobby, having to come off like that

And on the subject of Titi leaving...
Hopefully tonight has shown him what wankers Barca are (judging by the post match interview, he does think that), and has put him off going.

the ref. also helped arsenal cause although lehman's red card was clear it might have been goal, and not to forget that their one and only goal came from a foul that didnt exist, and you were saying a few weeks ago that spanish players were divers. where's that boy from? that was all they could do, a goal from a foul, no game, no nothing. we're the best team in europe, full stop.
chano cabrón saluda al campeón!

EXACTLY MY THOUGHTS! The chano thing too. ;D Chano, you're living in the past, man! Hail the champion!!! Barça, Barça, Barça!!! And what about that kick on the thigh Van Bronckhorst got from your diver, Eboué? That should have been your second red card of the night, aweful totally unnecessary tackle. The ref DID NOT help Barça, you gunners were lucky he didn't play the advantage in that red card play too-->it could have even been called a penalty! Lehmann knocked Eto'o down just on the line. Campbell's goal was good (with 10 men and all), but Barça did deserve it, (Barça DID deserve it, live4evr ), our goalkeeper and our reserves and our team in general is better and did better throughout the season. Rijkaard is far more agressive than Wenger too. Very exciting match anyway, had a lot of fun. Arsenal played very well, they ran a lot and defended like hell, Henry is an extraordinary player, seems like he's never tired, and Cesc is awesome too. The match could have gone to any side, but I think justice has been made and the best won. Champions of Europe. Favourites from the beginning and actually went on to win it, how long's it been since it happened?

Was an ok game, but a shame that the refs had more of an impact on the game than the players did.
Lehman shouldn't have been sent off and the advantage should have been played. With the tempo that Arsenal started off with I do think they could have come back from 1-0 down. You could see at times when they were a man down they were causing a lot of problems for barca.
the foul on Eboue was clearly a dive, and there were a bunch of other bad foul calls.
Ronaldinho didn't show up, and when he did make a move the defenders should him down quite efficiently. Didn't look too scary there. Larsson and that other sub they brought on were the real difference makers though. That old man still has some left in him.

I might actually cry if we win. i'm not far off it seeing Bobby and Dennis on TV at the end put me damn near over the edge congratulations to barca, if Thierry had finished when he was through in the second half... if Hleb had put it on target... if... arsenal next year - mark my words And damn Dom, you were fucking close to the money

Ronaldinho didnt show up? so it wasn't his sublime pass to E'to that lured Lehman into fouling him then?
He didnt have the best of games, but he showed up alright.

Well I just heard on Radio1 news that Thierry gave the clearest sign of his intentions last night. Apparently on the plane he got on the intercom and said (I cant remember what was said exactly, but...) 'we can come back stronger next season'.

just look at last nights game. Barca struggled to beat 10 men Arsenal, with their crap back up keeper in.
look at vieira, won the league with Juve without any problems (cept they cheated and will get relegated now hahahaha)...wheres the challenge? wheres the fun? i'd rather battle it out and see what AW and this team will acheive, much more exciting.
Henry is arsenal through and through.and he will be staying. just look at what he said about Barca last night.
if he was leaving, do you think he would be THAT passionate on his last game? ie look at Pires, why do you think he was sacrifised -- cos he's leaving in the summer.
Henry is staying. End of discussion. You can keep no show Ronaldhino, i'll take Henry anyday....(btw, check the bbc website, there's a piece about how Henry played much better than Ronny...and he did)
