Tottenham's crucial game at West Ham will go ahead, despite seven of their players going down with food poisoning. Martin Jol's side will clinch the fourth Champions League place if they win at Upton Park, although Arsenal may still pip them in the race. Premier League officials went to the Spurs team hotel to assess the situation before confirming the game would definitely go ahead. Boss Jol now looks certain to have to field an under-strength team. Spurs would seal fourth place with a win - but they will still face an anxious wait to see if they can compete in the Champions League next season. Even if they finish fourth, Spurs will be replaced by in the competition by Arsenal if the Gunners beat Barcelona in the Champions League final on 17 May.

It was mentioned that they may call the police in to investigate, as financially this was a huge game.

good decision
how the fuck can u postpone the game? thats like saying Arsenal should have played alot of their matches latter when every one is fit
GOOD teams deal with injuries, ie our CL form with a inexperienced back 4
did AW go and tell people "errr can ve play this match later cuz ve got no Cygan, Campbell, Cole, Clichy etc etc"
fuck off
and while im at it....everyone join in at laughing at spurs
thats what we call a rinsing....THATS karma, u cheated when u played us a few weeks back, and now uve suffered
the drama last year was the relegation battle, this yr it was the battle of the 4th place...how dramatic....what a way to leave highbury too
we will only get better

stole? the league table doesnt lie mate....over the course of the 38 game season, we were better. It was in YOUR hands, YOU bottled it.
That food poisioning story is a bs excuse too. Look at Arsenal this season, never at full strength....so fuck off....good teams have enough depth and quality to deal with those kind of problems
And Henry is staying. It's quite clear. Look at his enthusiasm. He's scoring many goals and has been in top form the last few games, he been smiling, joking and all too. Him kissing the ground shows how much this club means to him.
I think its ridiculous if he left after 1 bad season...that would be poor on his part. But its not going to happen. He's Arsenal through and through.
Compare his attitude with RVN. hmmm....RVN is clearly leaving, Henry is not....huge difference.
Fine, maybe cheated is too strong of a word, since there is no law. But you KNOW that if your 2 players ran into eachother, we would kick the ball out. Just look at the Villarreal games....diving bastards, but we kicked the ball out all 100 times they fell over.
AND remember in 1999 i think it was, when Kanu scored vs. Sheffield Utd in an F.A Cup game? We were suppose to give the ball back but didnt, won the tie 2-1. HOWEVER, we decided to replay the game (won 2-1 again). Spurs cheated? maybe not, but they def arnt good sports.
First off "one man team" is an oxymoron....
and your wrong anyway....Reyes tops the assists....without him Henry wouldnt have all those goals.....Cesc Fabregas is immense...he links up with Henry so well too.
Of course Henry is player that we depend on. But if you take Lampard out of Chelsea, Gerrard out of Liverpool etc, it would dramatically weaken the team.
Nice one

Live4evr, I think half the squad (due to food poisoning) out at very short notice is ALOT different to a few injuries!!
Arsenal aren't much without Henry either, if I'm being honest.

But you KNOW that if your 2 players ran into eachother, we would kick the ball out. sorry man, but that incident was blown out of all proprtion by Arsenal just becasue Spurs went up the park and scored. there was nothing wrong with the pair of them! aw they ran into each other, poor things, they must have been in so much agony. the only time a ball should be kicked out by the oppositon when an oppenent is injured is if its a head-knock, or an obvious bad injury like what happend to Alan Smith at Annfield. there was clearly nothing wrong with either of those players in this incident.

Nice one the only reason u replayed that cup tie was because so much fuss was made about it, remember pires kicking a portsmouth player and falling over in the box? no of course you dont, i wont deny that reyes and fabregas are good players but henry is what sets u apart you were lucky, youve been lucky in the champions league and you were lucky to get fourth place

In a way I feel sorry for the Spuds, cos they were 4th for ages and blew it. I'd be sick as well. However I am a Gooner so I am ultimately very happy. If you finish anywhere in the league it's cos you deserve it - there are 38 games in the season, not 37. The food poisoning thing is bad luck, but Spuds have got like a 30 man sqaud, do they were always able to put a team out (not their first choice 11 maybe, but as has been pointed out Arsenl have had the same problem all season long). The PL were never going to postpone the game, cos of the precedent set with Boro years ago. If Tottenham hadn't put a team out they would have been docked the points anyway, so they had to play. At the end of the day though, if you told any Tottenham fan at the start of the season they could have 5th place and UEFA Cup football they'd have snatched your arm off, so they should still take some hapiness from that. Arsenal have had a poor domestic season (11 defeats and still 4th? Ouch), but done fantastically in the Champs League, however much it may pain Spurs to see it.
I personally think Henry will stay. I may of course just be crazily optimistic Gooner, but there you go.
And how magic did Highbury look and sound yesterday? It brought a tear to the eye. The fans in their t-shirts, the Arsenal legends in the stands, the fans singing, it was all magnificent.
"Oh, Rocky, Rocky! Rocky Rocky Rocky Rocky Rocastle!"

The point is Arsenal were unbelievably average in the Prem this year losing 11 games and still finished on more points than the rest of the useless stragglers in the Premier League! with I might add an increbible goal difference of plus 36, almost as good as Uniteds!. Lets be honest had the food poisoning happened at any other time the game would have been played, Spurs would have fielded their reserves (like Boro yesterday fielded an all time youth all England kids team!) and may have lost lost. Credit to West Ham they beat Spurs and who is to say a fully fit Spurs team would have won, Spurs' current line up have no experience of big pressure games, after all what was the excuse for going out of the two cup competitions ludicrously early this year. Face it Spurs have played less games than any of the top 4 sides and should have had it WELL in the bag before yesterday, NO EXCUSES! the food posioning gives them a great legal case to get the money they wanted anyway!
And as for the comments Real Madrid and Juventus never turned up!, well Spurs dont have the luxury of entertaining Europes finest clubs on the biggest stage and we became the first British side in history to win at the Bernabeau! and beat Juventus off the park!
The season still goes on for some clubs like West Ham, Pool and Arsenal as they have trophies to play for the rest well back to the drawing board an better luck next year in the great quest for at best 4th Place!

I agree, but at least this way you are not left hanging on wondering!, what if Arsenal won the Champions League, you would be fifty times more gutted, get in and win the UEFA Cup and get some valuable European Experience, even the biggest Spurs fan has to admit Europe was your target and was achieved! and Fat Martin has done a good job and indeed unearthed some real talented players, but remember you aint beaten Arsenal for quite some time! even this season when we were not at the races, stole a point at the Lane and stole apoint at the Bury!
