From my knowledge he fell awkwardly, not primarily down to the foul.

I saw it last night, it looked accidently/self inflicted. The grass looked quite long and he looked like his boot stuck in the ground and his foot jarred. Bad news today, is that they believe it is multiple breaks Were his new boots partly to blame?

Were his new boots partly to blame? A guy from some Uni was saying that the design of the studs on boots these days is making these injuries more common. And he's right if you think about it. How many players have broken one of these bones in their foot or ruptured the cruciate ligament in their knee over the last few years? These injuries never used to happen really. Guy from my team did the same injury as Rooney last night.

Roo done his metatarsal in wasn't it? the boots new thin design wouldn't give enough protection at the top of foot thats why this injury is getting increasingly common in football. The cruciate ligament in the knee wouldnt be affected really by the boots, it takes a hell of a lot of impact for that to go, plus you would be more likely to do ankle ligaments in if it was the boot.

yeah yeah.. So your point was .... ? ;D That I disagree without a doubt. He wasn't unlucky. You can see clearly his foot being forced to the side. But anyways, it's just a pitty coz would be fun to win England again with a stronger team, but hey we'll try to take it easy then.
