Hello everyone I am new to this forum, I have been aware of it for years but never signed up.
What are everyone’s thoughts on the album? I know it’s not quite been a year but it is one of my favourite albums and Kentish Town is my favourite ever gig I’ve been to.
what are your thoughts now it’s been a bit of time the album has came out?

heard it twice. 5/10 awful lyrics, some catchy tunes, but not enough

I personally have been loving this album. Even if it did take a little while to warm up to it. Yeah the lyrics are corny in places, but no more so than in some of Noel's solo songs (Here's A Candle, Girl With X Ray Eyes, Open The Door...) The sound is 100% there in my opinion, and that's all that matters.

Great guitar and vocals for sure, but for people who value lyrics, it is sadly lacking.

Some albums I just can't enjoy if the lyrics aren't there, but with some I'm able to ignore that because the sound & vibe are good enough to make up for it.
LG&JS is a fine example of the latter catergory; the lyrics are clunky, but the retro live-band sound, plus Squire's bluesy guitar playing & Liam's snarling vocals, is enough to override that in this instance.

John’s lyrics to me have a playful vibe to them e.g love is the law and they have a certain charm to them

There are a few dodgy lyrics on there. I also think there are some pretty good lines scattered about.
Love the album. Liam and Squire on brilliant form.

The first Gallagher album I forgot exists.
Seriously. I was flicking through spotify and it popped up. I hadn’t listened to it in months and totally forgot about it

Best Liam's album in his "solo" career. Strong, cohesive. Runs well.
I still play it every now and then. It's a feel good album really, it has that summery vibe.

Pretty average really
A few decent melodies here and there. Typical Squire guitar playing he's been doing after the Roses debut.
A lot of jarring and pretty bad lyrics but that's to be expected for anyone that's heard his lyrics before. There's a good reason Ian Brown took that role in their partnership. I kind of expected that, so I don't mind too much.
It's ok I suppose. I prefer it to Liam's solo music, most of which i think doesnt work for him. At least the album with Squire fits him better.
Can't imagine I'll be sitting down to listen to it anytime soon, but it's a pleasant enough listen if it's on.

So Liam and Squire's live album on november was fake news?

I absolutely love this LP and still play it loads! Seriously underated in my opinion. “Just another rainbow” is phenomenal! What a song! Maybe coz it’s so The Stone Roses. “Mars to Liverpool” is one of my favourite songs of all time. “I’m a wheel” is friggin epic. “Love you forever” is pure Hendrix and “you’re not the only one” is biblical! I was flicking through MOJO the other day in a supermarket coz they had a “top 75 LP’s of 2024” and this LP wasn’t on it🤦🏻♂️ Absolute disgrace! Showed what a crap music msg it is.
After years of dross we’ve been blessed with 2 great LP’s this year. This and “Romance” by Fontaines DC

Great guitar playing and very strong vox from LG. Album has good energy, however, the songwriting is mostly subpar, imo. Only thing I go back to is I’m A Wheel.

I haven't listened to this album in months as I never go back to it like I do Liam's other three albums which I much prefer over this. But then I don't rate Squire as a great song writer anyway. However, the album isn't bad and I don't hate it.

Never really think of this album when Liam tunes come to mind. YNTO and JAR still great songs. The whole album this many months later feels like it just needs a bit more of a of heavier rock feel. Nice album to listen to with out the need to skip tracks. To me that's a good sign.

However, the album isn't bad and I don't hate it. Out of interest what songs do you love from “come on you know”? The only one I love is “everything’s electric”, I really like “Moscow rules” and I like “diamonds in the dark” but that’s about it. The weakest of his 3 LP’s by far. The best being “why me, why not?”. I think the John squire LG LP pisses all over his solo songs. It just feels more authentic with John than singing someone’s songs who writes for Adele
