Fans around the world are really excited. It seemed you were previously a bit wishy-washy on them. How do you feel about the band these days? Big fan! Oh, it's brilliant marketing, whether by hook or by crook, whether it's by accident or plan. I know Liam [Gallagher] a little bit. We ran into each other at a hotel and exchanged pleasantries. He actually pulled my leg and convinced me that one of his two boys—Gene and Lennon—that he named Gene after me. I doubt it, but he convinced me at the hotel! But that relationship between the two brothers, I mean I've read that story before, it’s always worked. Start with Cain and Abel and go right down. All the great pairings: [John] Lennon and [Paul] McCartney, [Mick] Jagger and [Keith] Richards, they all turn on each other after a while, then they get back together again! It always works and good for them because, again, people want to hear those songs! They've got lots of fans and they'll do great. Good luck! More power to them. I'm curious from a business standpoint what you think about this aspect: there was a big hoopla with Ticketmaster and droves of people weren't able to get tickets to their dates in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Fans thought that it wasn't handled well and were very upset when Dynamic Pricing was used, where Ticketmaster inflates the price of the ticket based on demand. Oasis came back and said that they didn't know Ticketmaster was going to use this model. The UK government’s Competition and Markets Authority even launched a probe over it. Some fans said they felt betrayed or entitled to tickets at a reasonable price, for example, $100 as opposed to $1,000. What do you think about the ethics of that? They're entitled to f*** off. You have the ultimate power, supply and demand! Whatever the pricing is, is all academic. Somebody sits in a room and tries to figure out how far the rubber band can stretch. And if you're not selling tickets, guess what happens? The price goes down. Capitalism! If you don't want to pay that amount, don't go. I'm sure it'll be streamed someplace and you figure out a way and you'll complain. But social media has opened up the pathways of expressing yourself and there are no traffic cops. It's like traffic in Italy and France, just people just go right by each other. It's just insane. Also it's a way to get attention, but ultimately the quiet people, the ones that don't really use social media, vote with their money. You don't like the ticket pricing? Don't buy a ticket."

"You don't like the ticket pricing? Don't buy a ticket."
It's not exactly the same whether you've been told from the beginning that tickets would be £400 or if you discover after queuing online for hours that ticket prices have quadrupled with no warning !

"You don't like the ticket pricing? Don't buy a ticket." It's not exactly the same whether you've been told from the beginning that tickets would be £400 or if you discover after queuing online for hours that ticket prices have quadrupled with no warning ! There is definitely some nuance missing from his answer about the bait and switch that occurred. What percentage of the roughly 1 million tickets sold do we think had the price inflated due to dynamic pricing? Less than 10%? If so, his point about social media and the few who were impacted turning it into the crime of the century is spot on. The crime of the century here is allowing the promoter (LiveNation) to own the only means of distribution (Ticketmaster and Twickets) and to have the audacity to have Ticketmaster blame "the promoter" for the dynamic pricing. Cue the meme of the two Spiderman pointing at each other. I'm all for capitalism, but that only works when there is competition, which was manufactured here. How this monopoly survives is beyond me. They must funnel all of their dynamic pricing gains into lobbying on both sides of the pond.
