I live in Columbus, Ohio, where sadly the independent alternative station CD101 went out of business earlier this year. They would've had a field day with the news, much like I'd expect any station that still plays anything by the band.
However, every day this week my wife has told me that the "Hits" station in town (WNCI, top-40 format) has been talking about Oasis on their morning show as she's been driving to work. They've done some stuff in London over the years and today they even had on one of their friends who has some job in the entertainment industry to talk about the reunion.
It's shocking to me that they'd even acknowledge Oasis reuniting, but I think also speaks to how freaking massive of a deal this is.
I'm also a sports writer and am a routine guest on the sports talk station in town, and over the years my Oasis fandom has come up to the point that they introduce me as the "World's No. 1 Oasis Superfan". This morning, they had me on TO TALK ABOUT THE REUNION. Not about the sport I cover (although we did briefly talk about it for about a minute at the end), but I was on to talk about Oasis. Absolutely wild.
Where else are you surprised to be hearing Oasis reunion talk?

Boston sports radio station 98.5 The Sports Hub has been talking about it non stop. Multiple 10+ minutes segments the last few days about it. One of the shows lead off today with it and non-stop songs played (and not the usual suspects either -- some deep cuts especially for America).

Likewise, I heard Fox Sports radio talking about the Oasis reunion yesterday which led into other bands that need to reunite.

So far (in no particular order): Supersonic Live Forever Champagne Supernova Don't Look Back In Anger Wonderwall Some Might Say Go Let It Out In fairness, a few of the shows typically use the intros to Supersonic, Live Forever and Fuckin in the Bushes, when coming back from commercials so not completely out of character.

It's best not to listen to most radio stations around here so I can't comment on that, but Hungarian press is writing about them every day which is extremely unusual. I've just seen an article about people wanting a "loyalty program" to be in place where you enjoy priority for tickets if you've been a fan for 100 years and all that rubbish -- it's not very insightful but speaks volumes that they even write about the reaction to the reunion and not just about the reunion itself.

Nobody should have to see this. Second, how have we never knowingly crossed paths?

A political correspondent dropping Oasis titles into his report on the BBC. It was a serious one about the UK's grim economic outlook too.

I think I’ve seen you on t.v., I live in the Columbus area… God bless. First off, sorry if that's the case. Nobody should have to see this. Second, how have we never knowingly crossed paths? We have a mutual Facebook friend, LJ from cd101…she posts Oasis-related things once in awhile. One time you commented on her post and I looked at your page, some time later I recognized you on one of the news channels. God bless.

Oasis is everywhere right now in Spain. They were on every front page of printed newspapers yesterday, sometimes as a small feature but one of them had it on full page (and I'm talking about a proper newspaper, not like The Sun).

We haven't bought a newspaper at home for years... but yesterday my mother saw the news on the front page of "El Mundo" and bought it for me. Two entire pages dedicated to the Gallaghers! Not even in the 90s!

Biggest radio sports show in Toronto and possibly Canada - Overdrive 1050. They were talking and playing intro music from oasis the day of the reunion announcement. They've brought up Liam and Noel randomly when discussing fueds within sports. Kind've cool to hear!

Short answer: America.
I'm a gigging musician in bars in California, and generally have to fill a 2 hour set, so alongside my originals I usually play a solid handful of Oasis anticipating no one will notice that I'm covering the same artist 5+ times per night. I haven't gigged since the reunion, but have a bunch coming up, and I'm afraid my cover will be blown now. 😂

Where I live I noticed the commentator son the sports channel suddenly bring up Oasis a lot during Manchester City games (at least the 2 that I caught...). But they also made a segment on their show for the premiere league this week, comparing Haaland and Oasis on the gist of "simple but genius"
