autotune was invented in 1997 but there were other things that were used to manipulate pitch that so yeah they “autotuned” their voices before 1997, it has been normal and industry standard for long time Probably, but like every tool at your disposal, its not the tool itself, its how you use it. Autotune did make things easier though; Pitch correction and autotuning the way we are thinking about are two different things too: autotune will correct a take the same way for all notes and leave a metallic sound, and the render will be robotic. adjusting a few notes one by one, adding EQ, reverb is totally different. Anyone could already do it on cubase for free in 1999; Its pretty obvious that after BHN the autotune was widely used by Oasis, but i'd say in a smart way. Before that, morris used a Eventide DSP4000 So basically, the tool was used to correct the biggest mistakes, but keeping the "true" performance, even with imperfection in notes or tempo. A recording is essentially fake anyway, its just a matter of how much fakeness you add to it. Even amps and electric guitars are fake in a way. the sound is not real, its produced by a machine. to me: Oasis post BHN : SOTSOG / HC / DBtt - level of fakeness on voices 70% Oasis DOYS: level of fakeness on voices 65% Liam solo records: level of fakeness on voice 250% How does the fakeness of voice correlate to success of the albums? (Be as objective as you can).

(Be as objective as you can). 0 clearly... a long time ago. now, its an important part. There was a lot of talks about liam losing his voice in later oasis days and Beady Eye, and its obvious that they brushed the voices on solo records even more to appeal to a wider audience that could have been put off by the "imperfections"; We live in a world where now being a bit off in music is considered a flaw. Younger generation is accustomed to over the top polished recordings, due to the downfall of rock n roll music, which was the music that put personality over everything else. I'll take the Celine Dion at the olympics example again. its been praised because she is singing "perfectly". If they didn't correct the take for a more live take, it would have been taken down badly, on youtube and stuff like that. It can go bad very fast with people in need of click, views and likes; This is the days were are living in. Everything needs to be perfect : skin, hair, legs, voice, you name it; It doesn't matter if its genuine or not, all that matters is that it has to be (apparently) god-like, angel-like, no dust, no stain. Nowadays you wouldn't get the chuckle on Maxwell's silver hammer, for instance. Its all down to that; i'd even argue that part of Beady Eye failing on their second record is because of Liam's vocals, that are more live like than anything he's recorded before, or in a long time. When you listen on headphones, its pretty obvious that his vocals are way less manipulated than on Oasis records or his solo albums (but that doesn't mean autotune was not used, it probably was, but in a smart and subtle way); They sound sometimes a bit off, a bit too close to the mic, level sometimes are too high; I love it, but it was absolutely hated on here and elsewhere; Soul love especially, which is one of my fav liam track ever, its basically a live take. It feels like it. Its bounces up and down, you are in the studio with Liam. You can even hear him take his breath on some tracks, which is basically the first thing you cut even on demos ! most vocals tracks also seem to be one take throughout the songs, although that needs to be proven. Its very linear, it makes sense and you feel the voice going through the song and being a bit tired in the end (although not on all tracks, but back after the break, Soul Love and ballroom Figured or start Anew for instance); You can hear Liam's voice has been waiting for the next line, he is there in the song, he embraces it. Its not copy and paste. Some are disastrous though: Second bite of the apple, face the crowd and Soon come tomorrow being the worst. This is one of the reasons why i cant enjoy much Let's all make believe for instance: Vocals are too much cut, copy and pasted from various takes, and it sounds like a collage of take 1, Take 5, Take 20 and so on. And not in a good way; You can clearly hear its been too manipulated to be human-like;

"I've given up, too much work" Or rather, square pegs in square holes! Liam should sing them, Noel should write them.

It's nearly November now, fingers crossed Liam's tweet about recording was among the truthful ones

"I've given up, too much work" Or rather, square pegs in square holes! Liam should sing them, Noel should write them. I read that as a Noel quote, not a Liam one. 😅 “We’d just made a hundred million each from the tour. We started setting up to record a new album in Abbey Road, but I thought can I be arsed tuning up this guitar? I couldn’t be bothered so we scrapped the album.”

These days Noel could just ask AI to write the songs And just record them pretty sure 97,569876% of oasis « fans » could not tell the difference
As long as Away And Shine are in the lyrics of course

Will it go to #1? Of course.
Will I buy it? Of course.
Will it have a great tune? Of course.
Will it be forgotten in the mayhem that is the reunion tour? You betcha

Let's be realistic: Its Noel Gallagher, a new Oasis album is 10, 11 tracks max.
Oasis ended 15 years ago, so let's say he wrote one good/great Oasisy song a year since 2011 (post NGHFB 1), that he saved for a potentiel reunion... If that album sucks then Noel really needs to retire.

I’d love a new album but I don’t want more than 1 new song to make the setlist for next summer.
Summer 2025 is all bangers all the time.

What is Liam referring to, for those of us not on X Question “What do you think of Noel’s songs he’s written for Oasis?” LG Answer: “Blown away” That's the first single by the way, an insider told me; About Sarah of course. "Blown Away" *Verse 1* G - D - Am - C I see the storm clouds rolling in, Feels like trouble under my skin. The sun went down, the light won’t stay, And I'm lost for words I can't say. *Pre-Chorus* Em - C - G - D Em - C - G - D But I've been holding on, I’ve been holding tight, To these shadows that come alive at night. Caught in a world that’s lost its way, Trying to find a place to stay. *Chorus* G - D - Am - C G - D - C - G Blown away, like dust in the rain, Torn apart, but it feels the same. Just a whisper on the breeze, But I’m fighting to be free. Yeah, I’m blown away, can’t seem to stay, Drifting off like yesterday. *Verse 2* Faded memories in the wind, Ghosts of places that I’ve been. Empty roads and neon lights, Like faded stars on darker nights. *Pre-Chorus* But there’s a spark somewhere inside, It flickers low but it won’t die. I’ll chase the shadows, come what may, Till I'm no longer blown away. *Chorus* Blown away, like dust in the rain, Torn apart, but it feels the same. Just a whisper on the breeze, But I’m fighting to be free. Yeah, I’m blown away, can’t seem to stay, Drifting off like yesterday. *Bridge* G - D - C - G G - D - Am - C Em - D - C - G If the wind takes me far from here, Just know I’m still breathing clear. The night is cold, but dawn will rise, One last breath, one last try. *Chorus* Blown away, like dust in the rain, Torn apart, but it feels the same. Just a whisper on the breeze, But I’m fighting to be free. Yeah, I’m blown away, can’t seem to stay, But I’ll find my way someday. *Outro* Blown away, but I won’t bend, I’ll keep running till the end. In the ashes, I’ll remain, Never let me be blown away again.

Impossible to ever work anything out with Liams one word answers/clues , probably cause he’s not aloud to say.
