I have just signed up to this forum, as I Like Oasis a Lot, but Love The Roses.
I am really pleased to see all the excitement from the Oasis fans for this reunion, has reminded me very much of the same I felt in 2011-13,
I was absolutely buzzing for a year or two from the initial announcement, to the press conference, to the great gigs, to the promise of new music...
Ah well, it really was a great 2 years.
I note that it will be 16 years since the split that Oasis will play, the same for the Roses (1996-2012).
And I would keep an eye out for an Oasis Warrington Parr Hall Secret Gig in the Spring of 2025, or something similar.

Welcome!
Enormous, mind-bending day here!
The Roses reunion was a dream, certainly at first (I went to the Beady Eye day to see Liam support. The Roses were and are phenomenal, as is Ian’s early solo work.
I wish they’d done the third album!

Welcome to the best Oasis fan discussion going 25+ years. I luv the Roses & Ian's solo stuff by way of Oasis.
Not being cheeky, but pointed question re. Roses reunion...was there a band member divorce in the 12-18 months leading up to it where the financial windfall finally made sense?
Oasis hasn't said anything about new music; nor have they sold this as a WTSMG anniversary outing. Seems they're leaving it to figure it outself out. Roses promising an album didn't serve them unfortunately.

Roses promising an album didn't serve them unfortunately. Mani's mum passed away and all 4 Roses were at her funeral. From there, something started to happen. I assume they had offers on the table on and off for years during their split. I would love to know the inside track on the entire Roses reunion from conception right through to walking off stage at Hampden Park after the final gig. Details on it have been less than zero though I can't say that I've ever particularly looked hard for places to discuss and learn about the Roses with uber fans.

I had immediate thoughts of Stone Roses when I heard about Oasis, and what a dud that was, and had some doubts.
Oasis are doing it all in 1 year and haven't announced any new music yet. So Far it looks like a cash in and a good chance for the new generation of fans to see them.
If they do new music that'll be a big test, as they'll be judged far more on whether that's a success or not. And I think Stone Roses faltered when their new songs went down badly.
The tour will be huge no matter what.

Roses reunion was such a letdown. I have much higher expectations for Oasis.

Well if you had been at Heaton Park you may feel differently. The Heaton Park 2012 gigs were awesome to me, and the long walk after back to the city centre with the crowd just belting out Roses tunes will always stick with me.

Was at Heaton park 2012. One of best gigs I've ever seen. Where it went wrong was when they were still doing greatest hits tours 4 years later. Needed new music.
Don't think Oasis will make the same mistake tbh.

I saw the Roses during the reunion and I enjoyed the gig. It was a greatest hits set and that's all I wanted. I adore the first album. One of my favourites of all time but most of the Second album just isn't ver good. Squire hasn't done anything any way good since and Ian Brown's solo career was one of diminishing returns. I never cared that they didn't do new music. I think it would have just ruined the legacy.
If oasis want to go beyond 2026 they will need to do new music. But I wouldn't be surprised if this was a once off Greatest Hits tour and then a "good luck, we're done" thing before the lads get too old.
The way Noel has been talking I don't think he'd be physically up for an oasis tour in his 60s.

The Roses were awesome in those early gigs, but the magic tailed off and their later tours you could sense their heart wasn’t in it.
Partially the problem of having new music to play / create together. Retreading old ground with diminishing returns.
And that’s why I desperately for a new album.

I did Finsbury Park and it was awesome. Wembley in 2017 was one of the best gigs I’ve ever seen, genuinely top tier.
I just love the live tunes and the event.

i was gutted when the roses got back together because it meant no more ian brown solo albums ( i always prefered him solo). as long as oasis do another album this will of been worth it, if they dont then that will suck balls big time
