Irelands leading goal scorer Robbie Keane has been named Captain by new Irish boss Steve Staunton.
Keane will lead the Boys in Green out for the first time in Stans managerial debut against Sweden tonight at Lansdowne Road.
Keane takes over captaincy from the retired Kenny Cunningham and following in the footsteps of Staunton himself and Roy Keane.
Last time Sweden visited Dublin was in a 2-0 defeat with the Irish goals coming from Graham Kavanagh and Mark Kennedy.
Staunton has several new faces in the squad, with full debuts to Bolton's Joey O'Brien and Reading's Kevin Doyle, partering Keane up front.
Hopefully I can get tickets for the match and Ireland get a good start under the new manager against one of the opponents in Englands World Cup Group.
