Just going to post this here as no doubt I'll get lynched elsewhere! I'm obviously in the minority here - but I'm not really massively excited by this reunion. Quite possibly just due to getting old and grumpy, but I genuinely just don't seem to be excited as seemingly everyone else!
My thoughts...
Genuinely happy that they are at least on some sort of speaking terms again on a personal level. Must be really Nice for their Mum etc
However I saw Oasis several times back in the day, and also saw BE, NGHFB and Liam solo since they split. I've always been more of a 'Liam' person, and have loved most of his stuff post Oasis. I think all his solo stuff has been really good (don't care about who wrote it). It's been great to see Liam singing loads of the back catalogue over the last few years, and even a few Noel sung ones. Definitely would never have imagined that. But I suspect that the Oasis reunion is going to go back to the same old formula of a pretty predictable setlist with Noel then also doing a mini set of 3-4 songs. I remember before they split how everyone on here would constantly moan about the predictable setlist... Also I've really liked the full Liam sung gigs, especially as his voice has improved massively recently. Can't see Liam doing any acoustic stuff (a la a few BE gigs), or trying anything other than 100% full throttle Liam. And then the voice/throat issues will re-appear...
If they do end up doing an album (which I've no doubt they will eventually), what's it going to be - 10 Noel written songs and (maybe) 1 Liam song? I've loved the quite eclectic sound of Liam's solo stuff, so not sure going back to the follow up of DOYS really excites me?
And another thing, I think Liam's become a bit of a 'national treasure' in recent years! He genuinely cracks me up! I reckon now though he'll be back to old Liam. We've seen the last of the covid hand washing videos / holiday 'off me coconut' videos, etc! 🤣
Hopefully I'm totally wrong though, and Oasis will smash it. Liam will sing amazing live, they'll do a few album deep cuts, Noel will just sing on DLBIA, they'll do an amazing album, they'll continue to have breaks and do solo stuff in between, and we'll all live happily ever after...🤞😂

As long as they hold appropriately long breaks between gigs, I don't think we should worry any more about his voice than we do now. Maybe the worst scenario is that he gets a bit ill at the beggining of a tour and his voice doesn't have the time to recover, as it happened, if I remember correctly, at his 2020 European tour.

I'm not sure it'll just go back to how it was. Given his solo career I can't see Liam going back to being Noels bitxh. The videos you mention were probably made by Debbie and I can't see her just handing the reins back over to Marcus Russell. I'd imagine it'll be 50/50 and each with separate management.

Its been great seeing Liam so chilled doing funny stuff like that, as well as all the promo interviews etc

Liam has been brilliantly managed the last several years. I can’t see that changing, and hopefully they can compromise with Ignition.

I'm happy for Liam that he finally gets to sing with Noel again. But as a fan of his solo music it's a bit sad to think there'll be no new music for quite some time.
(Or maybe he could at least release 'Nothing Nowhere' before the Oasis tour starts...)

Damnit all to hell. Nothing Nowhere won't come out for at least another three years then

Idefinitely want to see a second Liam/JS record. Agree 100%, would love to see a second album, but only if Oasis are taking a break.

I'm a Noel fan and this feels like him throwing in the towel to me. I saw them in 95, 96, 05, and the last US show in 08 and I would go now, but not really with much excitement. Noel's state of mind seems very odd post divorce and this seems like an obvious in it for the money move.

Idefinitely want to see a second Liam/JS record. There’s time for that surely - the gigs aren’t for a year?

I feel the same as OP. I’m more of a Noel guy, but I’m not really super excited either. All this means to me is = no new Noel written music for a LONG time. And no new Liam solo tunes; I adore those first two albums.
And I’m 47 now. I’ll be at the U.S. shows but I’m past that being the core reason I’m into music and Oasis.

I share the trepidation w/ the OP/others. My friends/fam were calling me all day, congratulating me re.the reunion. Prolly closest I'll feel to having a baby as 40'something singleton: "Ohh thanks...I didn't really do anything...and I'm not even sure how I feel about this."
Seems obvious this is Noel cashing in post-divorce. Those of us who saw lotsa gigs before, can that time/essence really be captured again?
The solo careers were best of both worlds. More gigs. More music. Liam proved himself & came out of his shell. Noel got older/more bitter.
I go to every Liam/Noel show possible, and Liam/Beady Eye shows have consistently felt like rock shows. Noel's Moon Tour rocked to high hell, but everything after that has been DadRock/adult contemporary feeling.
Effectively, Noel gigs felt like what a stale, dated Oasis reunion might be; and Liam's shows were still generally electric & of-the-moment, fresh, dynamic.
Noel needed the money, felt his music getting old & saw Liam connecting to a new generation.
The reunion's happening, and I'll try to go to any shows that make sense for me. The next question...does this yield an album? They'd only do an album to tour it, so I'm thinking no.

I love Oasis and I am happy if they are on speaking terms and getting close again, but output-wise the last years were brilliant. Even though not everything was amazing msybe we had a lot of interesting stuff we would have never heard if Oasis never broke up.
We had two Beady Eye records, and I really enjoyed parts of both of them. Flick of the finger alone is a tune that gave me so much as my most beloved oasis tunes.
Noel released 4 high flying bird records and in mymopinion he pesked with the chasing yesterday album cycle. The b sided were amazing and songs like the right stuff are among my favourite gallagher releases.
Then Liam came solo and with his live albums he had 7 releases! Especially the first two albums had an energy to them that felt fresh and I even prefered parts of the first one as it had Liam written songs like "bold" "greedy soul", "I've all I need" and many more.
I did not dot into the john squire/liam gallagher album but definitely enjoyed "just another rainbow".
So as happy as I am for Oasis getting back together, I am afraid of them getting back together in their safe place and comfort zone without daring live premiers like "roll it over" or "angel child" and changing setlists and surprises. We will see but as an Oasis fan I am really grateful for all the stuff we got since 2009.
