As far as anything can be certain, Chris and Gem will be in since they play with Noel and were actually in Oasis. And Noel wants a lead guitarist. I hope Bonehead will be involved, I don't see how he can't be now really. Just a question of how, I don't see them having 3 guitarists the whole gig, maybe just on a few songs? Bassist, I imagine Andy gets first dibs if he wants it, which presumably he would given the money on offer! If for some insane reason he doesn't I imagine it'd be Russ. |

Been on the phone with three different friends here in Texas (all truly madferit) — one being my best buddy since we were 5 y/o. We’ve all seen Oasis and each iteration of the solo ventures multiple times but everyone is bouncing off the fucking walls like we’re kids at Christmas. We’ll be in attendance.
It almost seems like a dream… I‘ve been watching live gigs all day and might’ve shed a tear or two. Can’t believe it, but it’s finally happening. All hail the rock n’ roll gods for this!!

It would. And it probably will be 😂 It would be a great marketing move. Nothing special has been announced so far that the brothers haven't done already. The only difference is that now, more things are happening at once. But that can be just marketing on next level for WTSMG special Christmas cupcakes. Or did I miss something? I only saw a couple of tweets, which could, but don't necessarily mean a reunion. Was there anything else? All that's happened is a couple of news articles from "sources" saying its on. These kind of articles circle about once a year for the past 10 years, I could post dozens from past years. Since then there's been more articles just repeating what's said in the others. The rest is just twitter hype. The odd cryptic Liam tweets which means nothing, it's Liam. Then the only other thing is Oasis have something happening on Tuesday morning at 8am. They're releasing DM on Friday, it could literally just be an old recording or a video. So really it's basically nothing that's never been said before. It's just got a bit more traction. It might happen, but I think a lot of people here are reaching really,based on what they're doing off i.e tabloid articles that could've been copied and pasted from older ones,and a few tweets. They have something to announce on Tuesday, and it's not at all impossible that they're just riding the wave of rumors and now are using the whole reunion story to better promote whatever it is that they're going to announce on Tuesday. And they can always distance themselves from it and say that none of them ever mentioned a reunion. |

Same "industry insiders" that 18 months ago said Oasis are playing Glastonbury 2024? Heh I don't remember these sources cited from The Times before. If you are referring to The Sun and Daily Mirror, of course they are crap and if they are citing "sources" is bullshit. |

On the serious, I was talking to my mate earlier about the BBC Sounds podcast about Oasis, and we were talking about whether they should reunite and Glastonbury potential line-up next year etc. He is a more casual fan and was all up for it but I've had no longing for it and cited the dud comeback by the Stone Roses. And I was like we've got good music from both brothers and Liam played Knebworth recently so what's the point? It'll be a let down blah blah.
But now, like 6 hours later and its seemingly happening, my attitude has completely changed. I saw Oasis 3 times in 2008-2009, and then Beady Eye and Noel several times, and it's just a different beast seeing Oasis. It's a massive massive event, even at the quite small BIC in Bournemouth it was electric in the air with the fans before and during the gig. You just dont get that at the Solo gigs.
So fuck it, who cares if it's a let down, I'm here for the ride.

Liam, Noel, Gem, Bonehead, Sharrock Plus one more I think, don't see Bonehead playing bass. I think it'll be Andy, especially if it's only gigs, I'm sure Ride will let him have the summer off if he buys them all a guitar with all the money he'll make. Bonehead may just get some guest spots on a few songs, unless maybeee Noel sees the PR benefit in having him fully involved. Definitely Chris on drums, not sure why anyone is mentioning Alan White, absolutely no chance - they parted on very bad terms and I imagine no-one has spoken to him since. If there's an album it gets more complicated, but the way Noel records these days they wouldn't necessarily need a full 'band' for recording, and in a way I'd prefer they didn't. None of that democracy nonsense from the end of Oasis. Just bring Russ in to do a bit when needed. |
