I think you have to be trolling at this point… Why would they shut the whole site down for a video or a recording from the vault? Playing up to the hype to get people interested in the re-release this week. They're not daft, they're not gonna extinguish the rumours 5 days before they wanna sell a record haha Mate give it a rest. If that's the case, what's Blossoms got a reason to put the date on after their set? Nothing to do with them right? Oasis are back!

A 19 year old I know from the pub from watching the footy came running up to me earlier and was like "mate you heard? Oasis are getting back together!" I dismissed it as there's bollocks every year online about it. But he was like "nah its on Sky news and the Oasis twitter account has posted about an announcement". And ran off saying he was buzzing to see them live. So I started thinking, I was 19 in 2009 at Reading Festival when I heard they'd broken up. This lad was 4 in 2009. Right there is a little nugget of the magic of Oasis and music across generations in general. I now feel old. I was 14 when they broke up, and that was a few months before I got into them. so this is pretty unreal. I'm getting an Oasis reunion for my 30th birthday. Yeah, it's that age group I feel sorry for. I had only been into them since 2005 so I only saw them live 3 times on the last tour, but I always felt lucky to at least catch them at the tail end. I'm made up a whole new bunch of young'uns will now get a chance to see them. Yeah it's not the same as the 90s (I'm jealous of that), but seeing them was a different beast to seeing Liam/Beady Eye or Noel solo.

Playing up to the hype to get people interested in the re-release this week. They're not daft, they're not gonna extinguish the rumours 5 days before they wanna sell a record haha It’s a re-release of a 30 year old album. Not the second coming of Christ. I don't think changing the main page of a website means a great deal these days. They can revert back to a normal website within a few clicks after they've promoted some unreleased stuff on Tuesday. People barely go on official websites these days.

Why would some two bit pop band have anything to do with announcing anything Oasis related? You're reaching now

I've seen them both solo as many times as I could and it's always been special but I figured the idea of ever seeing Oasis was a fever dream til now. and there are many kids younger than me who will get to see them too!

These are two bands whose fan groups don't cross over much, but Oasis and Linkin Park are announcing reunions at the exact same time - and I, who love both, am absolutely losing my mind right now.

I was 19 when they broke up and went to an Oasis concert in December 2008, which also happened to be the first concert I ever went to. I was glad I caught them then because I never expected they would get back together. Thought they were done for good, or at the very least, for a very long time. Now I'm 34 years old and....yeah, time flies I guess.

Who's gonna sing for Linkin Park? Isn't the singer brown bread? I can't imagine it working so well without his voice

Rumors are they found a female vocalist. I imagine it must be someone pretty solid if they've decided to come back because say what you want about that band but his vocals were once in a lifetime

No male vocalist will live up to Chester, it's best for them to try something new
