To be fair interviews with both brothers where pretty rare post-2002. There is the Stop the Clocks interview, but I think that’s it.

If it is a farewell (I always thought that it would be and I don't think there will be an album) then it won't stop the speculation. They will go back to their solo work and there will still be questions, especially if the brothers are on good terms again. Noel will be promoting NGHFB VI on the Jonathan Ross show and he will ask. Liam will be promoting LGJS 2 and he will be asked about it by Graham Norton. It won't stop. Which is why I think the no interviews thing is a bit alarming. I don't think that they are on good terms at all - I just can't see why / how they would be after all the bad blood. If they did an interview and just said 'look, this is it now. Your last chance to see us' then we would all be in the know. All very strange. Yeah. I think they have decided to bury the hatchet and be civil with each other for now. But they are afraid to do interviews together because that would mean questions about their relationship and possibly awkward moments, and they don't want to go there.

It's unsurprising that Noel would perhaps want to avoid interviews as I think he would have the most awkward questions to answer.
I'm preparing for a retrospective, perhaps along the lines of what Noel had talked about before.

maybe it's not a bad idea to avoid awkward situations or forced friendships on camera in the sick era of social media in particular Well apparently they're filming a documentary about the reunion, so we're gonna see those situations anyway.

Based on everything we've seen so far this might be the case. They're in decent terms but that's all and it's best to avoid any possible difficult situations especially in the public eye.

A press run would be a disaster. They would be mad not to do everything inhouse and control the narrative.

They'll be controlled though. The Stone Roses film is a good example of that.

But no way Noel's gonna shut his mouth.

They will do interviews, but only for the documentary that's gonna get made.
They're not just gonna give out interviews to any old Tom, Dick, and Harry who works in radio or for a music mag. They don't have to work to drum up interest in their product; they are the product, and the interest is already there in bucketloads. They can just sit back and, along with whichever filmmakers land the gig of putting their doc together, scuplt the narrative they want putting out there.

The reason they aren't doing any interviews is because they reserved rights with Netflix.
In the Netflix doc you will see them together

Netflix or Amazon Prime one or the other. They aren't stupid. They are being very calculated with this. This isn't the 90s where they were interviewed by every Tom, Dick and Harry. They will release a proper doc with all the content uve been dying for and it will only build the hype train even more leading up to the shows. Basic Math stuff here. It's not rocket science.

I wouldn't mind wibbling rivalry 2 though; I used to listen to that CD and the Interview Disc & Fully Illustrated Book CD the same amount of time as the albums

I just want the reunion dome the right way… and for that to happen, they need to be on good terms again.
Even this forum got tired of Oasis just going through the motions at what was once the end of their career. We need the pizzazz back.

Tbh they don't have to do any interviews to promote gigs that sell out in minutes. Interviews would be relevant if they were to record a new record, which hopefully they will.
But the main catch here is that the penalties if any of them pulls out of the reunion before the gigs happen are certainly MASSIVE. Whilst I doubt Liam would pull out, I could see Noel doing so (in fact, he has already done that, lol). The best way to minimize the risk of Noel once again leaving Oasis (and the huge financial liability he'd take on if he does so) is avoiding the familiar drama. I bet those rehearsals are happening under a very tightly controlled scenario. I also bet the setlist was carefully designed to avoid any discussion and it wouldn't surprise me if Marcus Russell and Debbie met to set up some sort of a compromise setlist.

Just read liams tweet that they won’t be doing an interview together. Get ready for the final tour style atmosphere all over again!

I’m not sure a certain Noel Gallagher would let it play out like that. I agree they probably know 95% of what they ‘should’ play but I’d expect they would this early on have some expectation that there are some songs they will need to assess further during pre production of the tour

I think y’all worry too much. Liam is obviously over the moon which tells me they are getting along fine. Why would they do interviews when they don’t have to. I was watching Lord don’t slow me down last night and jesus those interviewers are the worst. Just the dumbest ass questions. I couldn’t stand it if I was them. They don’t need to give their time away for free, it will all be in the doc.

This fandom is really full of negative Nancies. Liam says on Twitter they won't do interviews and people immediately read this as "they must be on bad terms" (although he hasn't said that at all). On the other hand Liam has straight up said very positive things on Twitter which points to them being fine (like them getting food and drinks together), but this just gets ignored. Them not doing interviews may just mean they won't give any to magazines, radio etc. and that they will sit down together for their own doc like others have said already.

Who would interview them anyway? Traditional media is dead. NME ain’t interviewing them any time soon and I doubt they’d bother doing the online stuff like they’ve done as solo artists. Radio X? They need Oasis not the other way around. Frankly I’d be happy with an EPK style docs we got for the post-00 albums. Or Right Here Right Now that the BBC did for BHN. So whatever doc is in the works should be good.

Personally I wouldn't believe anything he says, he recently said they're not coming to Mexico for instance when the dates had already been announced which says it all 😂

And it's just a waste of a spot. Whether it's Songbird or IOOT, Oasis have a lot more than 20 songs far better than both. I guess hopefully Songbird will be spared since it's about his ex, IOOT will then be crush time at the bar!
