i truly can't believe this is happening. for someone who thought they'd never have the chance to see 'OASIS' as a live band, this is everything, the ultimate gigs of my lifetime.

This is all about securing the legacy and giving the Oasis story a good ending. New music would be great but I'm not counting on it. Exactly Its almost bittersweet because this could be it.
So folks, don't overthink it. Just fucking enjoy the ride THE BIG O ARE BACK

Have you got anything positive to say? You understand that Noel’s worth an absolute fortune? Them dates announced won’t make him as much as wonderwall does each year! They are loaded .. it’s age and time related quote author=" surrealneil" source="/post/1757685/thread" timestamp="1724746546"] Anyone else feel slightly off about all this? Not really, it's like I expected. A massive cash grab to make up for a divorce (on Noel's part). That's not knocking it, I don't blame them one bit, but it is what it is. Will anyone care when they're at the gigs though? [/quote] I understand economics. Firstly Wonderwall will not make him a fraction of what he'll make from these gigs, especially not in the age of steaming, let's get that right for a start. I work in music publishing and you're way off the mark. Secondly, these rich people have expensive accountants for a reason. They have businesses, assets, high tax brackets. Noel is rich, but there's not a business manager or accountant in the world that wouldn't strongly suggest to Noel that he needs to claw back money he lost in a divorce. I don't think you understand what a big hit that is to someome with a lot of assets. Yes he's richer than you or I and always will be. But the risk factor in losing such a large sum of money when you have so many assets it's a different ball game. Richer people than Noel have lost their money because they couldn't claw it back and it becomes a snowball effect. This is a cash grab, at least initially and it's ok. I'm not being negative, just realistic. Does it mean something better won't come from it? Not at all

The guardian ‘no plans for new music’ is almost certainly just based off the fact they haven’t announced any rather than any inside info. Thats how 80% of the music press operate these days

Don't even talk about it, eveything will be alright 😬 We will have Prague, Barcelona, Athens, Belgrade, Stockholm, Riga, Budapest, Milano... and whole year of enjoying Oasis gigs. And I happen to know the guy who's checking the tickets on all major events in Belgrade... sitting in my thumbnail on the left

Btw if they're gonna tour in the usa but not in europe or south america it will be a weird choice "Their only shows in Europe next year" implies to me that there are European dates to be expected the year after, otherwise why would they stress the "next year" bit, or that they have no exact plans for after they're finished with the confirmed leg(s) of the tour. Too little time to combine UK and mainland Europe next summer. Summer 2026 should be European stadiums and (maybe) festivals. South America/ Australie could be after the US. Nov/dec. Or next fall/winter The worry is - will they stay friendly enough to not have Noel jump ship after 2025?

They were never big enough there to cause enough nostalgia to fill the rose bowl, its bigger than Wembley. That's gotta be some co-headline type of thing if the venues are correct. We know they're a big band and hype/nostalgia sells but there's more chance of me banging Jennifer Lopez than Oasis selling out the Rose Bowl stadium alone. It's the only show on the west coast. Fans will be traveling from Seattle, Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Fran, Vancouver, and maybe even places like Tokyo That's enough to get pretty close to capacity I live on a rural island with less than 2000 people population, I have to fly to Vancouver to fly to Toronto! (Which I did for Beady Eye) Excited nonetheless!

They've done a photoshoot together, you can see some of it in the video Yes I know but the fact that someone thought that it would be great to use to that photo for the biggest reunion in the history of music makes me laugh I imagine it was one of the better ones from the shoot. And there is nothing wrong with it. They wanted it all stark and black and white and all be in line with the very famous logo. ”oh no it looks photoshopped because they removed the backdrop. Disn’t the supersonic book do the exactly same thing.

Anyone else feel slightly off about all this? Yep What I’m telling myself is the height of oasis was about that brotherly passion but the start wasn’t, in 1991, and that’s where we are now - at a new start. If Noel feels inspired it will build into what it was by 2026/2027 But that’s unlikely, given who they are now and the fact that they’re old and everything will feel like a redo So yes, feels off. They’re not picking up where they left off in 2009 let alone where they peaked in 1998 This will be a slow start

I'm thinking the Irish dates going on sale an hour earlier than the UK dates is gonna make things a lot harder. I can imagine a lot of UK fans chancing their arm at Irish tickets incase they can't get UK ones as they'd easily sell them on.
Either way absolutely blown away by this news, tickets or no tickets I can't wait!

I don't suppose they care that much. They only need to do the minimum. They could sell these gigs out if the poster was Liam's bare arse with a ticketmaster link written across it in crayon

The papers are all saying it's just HFB members, but surely Bonehead will perform some shows!? I noticed in the clip that they showed Bonehead as well as Noel & Liam. Do we really think there's still bad blood between Noel & Bonehead?

I assume the only reason people feel underwhelmed is because it's literally just a tweet. No video of them together. Both look pretty miserable in the photos. Give it time I would say. This is the start. I'm sure we'll get some interviews soon where we can see for ourselves if they are on good terms again.
Patience. We've got what we wanted. Let's see how it plays out.

Noel Gallagher does not need the money , oasis was making them 4/5 million each year .. there albums have been in the uk top 50 for the last 5 years it seems .. they can do no more in their solo careers .. age is a big factor with Noel , the time is right . New music will follow
As for USA stadium tour they’d fill 5/6 easily they’ll cherry pick the areas .. they won’t do an extended tour because that’s what causes friction in the band they get bored .. stadiums wil be played over multiple arenas..
Bonehead seen Noel awhile back he stated that other week , there was no coincidence that even guigsy was spotted out and about …

I wanted NEW OASIS MUSIC out of this. Gigs are fun and all, but the songs last forever. Will remain optimistic though... I guess this isn’t a case of them deciding what’s the perfect circumstance in which to get back together and honour what it was This was a car that crashed and after 15 years they’ve barely got the engine started again. This is closer to the minimum viable product for re-opening , not the pinnacle or the dream I doubt we’ll truly get to new heights again with the band, but I really hope we do move beyond just one tribute tour I want it to feel like oasis is alive and healthy, that would mean more than oasis are pretending to be oasis for the money
