So I just saw JET in Canberra of all places. They were phenomenal, Nic Cester who fronts the band in particular was amazing. Incredibly talented singer and frontman, I was honestly blown away. I’ve always been a fan of JET but never enough to warrant going to one of their gigs but I regret that now, going to see them have made me a bigger fan.
Imagine seeing those gigs in 2005 USA, JET, Kasabian and oasis, incredible…
They also have new music coming out in 2025 so looking forward to that as well..
Has anyone else seen them live? Thoughts?

I saw them live in Madrid in 2007 during the Shine On tour and they were great, although that album is pretty weak.
But I remember back in 2003/4 I played Get Born to death. It's one of those records where every song could've been released as a single, so good that at the time I though it could be up there with Oasis. Even leftover tracks from that era are amazing, like "Sgt Major" which they included in a Spiderman soundtrack.
In the early 00s lots of good bands emerged from Australia with really strong debut albums (Jet, The Vines, Wolfmother...) but sadly none of them matched that quality on later releases,

I really like their debut album. I haven't listened to it in a while though. Lots of catchy rock songs. The second album didn't do much for me. Didn't they split up after the second album?
I'll definitely look forward to hearing their new material next year.

Their deubt album was great, but they were treated more like a one hit wonder over here. Imagine seeing those gigs in 2005 USA, JET, Kasabian and oasis, incredible… I've seen Oasis, Kasabian and Weezer on the same stage in 2005.

They're not without humour so I hear and don't take themselves seriously. They were big fans of the Scots comedian Limmy before he made it big.
Before a Glasgow gig in the mid 2000s, they got the then relatively unknown Limmy on stage to tell them the gig had been 'cancelled', and then proceeded to play an air guitar version of Are You Gonna Be My Girl. Cue a lot of boos and pints been thrown in Limmy's direction. Meanwhile Jet were at the side pissing themselves laughing before walking on.
As 'supporting acts' go, it's probably the best use a band has made of that act.

Also I met them in person for several times.

Get Born is a great album but I've never bothered to listen to any of their other stuff as I thought that they had split up ages ago.

Very unpredictable. One day he could be really sweet and talks about everything and nothing, very cheerful, but the next day, he would completely ignore you. He was a great front man on their peak and he was aware of it himself more than anyone else, but other members got rid of him later didn't surprise me at all.

Yeah as much as I love his music now and his comeback, I can definitely see him as being difficult to work with. Pretty sure he’s been diagnosed as ADHD
