The main points to respond to in this thread for me:
1) Messi was brilliant, MOTM without a dobt. WAS guilty of over-acting.
2) Del Horno is an idiot, but I don't think it was a straight red. In a Prem game it wouldn't be.
3) Mourinho is unlikeable but he's arrogant because he's good. Got to give him that.
4) Henry seems like he isn't doing as much this season because we are playing 4-5-1 all the time and he's stranded upfield alone a lot, and the midfield has been weak and unable to build solid attacking moves like we used to. Selling him would be INSANITY (and if you think Barca would give us Eto'o in return you're bonkers).

Del Horno is a dick!, why did he go in like a mentalist and give Messi the chance to put on an Oscar?, but did everyone else then switch off!!!, Del Horno acted even worse, he was wrything around holding his throat and whining! WTF!!, he tried royally to cover his ass with a pathetic act!...In addition he should have been booked for the knee breaker he did on Messi earlier in the game and if you recall just before the red incident he tried to hoof Messi in the air and Andy Gray on Sky said the ref will be calling him over for that!...then of course the handbags broke out!.
Lets be honest the home team sat on their holes for the first 40 minutes inviting barca out (as tehy always do against good sides) then cried about the red and survived to half time. Second half they were 1-0 up and should have shut up shop, instead they got knackered on their spud field and were cruelly mocked by far superior flair and skills!. JT saved their arses with goal line clearances from Larrson and Ronaldinho and got away with flattening Messi in the area!....They should be damned thankful they still even have a shout!, should have been 4 or 5-1.
On the Henry debate he is simply a legend, check out what Meija from Madrid said today" he is unstoppable, we tried everything including pulling him, even kicking him but could not get near him!"....praise indeed from the dude who tried marking him. TH14 has scored over 30 goals EVERY season for the Arse and he will again this season 20 and counting! in a word IRREPLACEABLE! I would not swap him for anyone!

Eat that, Mou! I'm so fucking happy. And messi didn't act. Did he do something when Del Horno tackled him the first time? NO. And in the red card play he got knocked down, what do you want him to do, get up and smile? Now, Del horno did act, as if he was the one that got hurt, rolling around on the Stamford Beach waiting for David Hasselhoff to come save him. Barça had a great match. And Chelsea's football, well, it's just ugly. We deserved to win, they deserved to lose, and it could have been 3-1 or 4-1 instead of 2-1. FORÇA BARÇA!

Good game. Messi was the player of the match. And what's worrying me for the WC is how the europeans are so violent. Why they don't just play football? Even though that's not the point. The referres are like pussies. Del Horno should've been put in jail for the first tackle and the foul wasn't even given. Most european teams play great football, some players are quite rough but thats football. A mans game As long as those brazillians don't start diving like last time.. ;D

I think Messi and Del Horno both tried it on with a bit of acting after the incident. Messi has a look up at the ref and then rolls around over and over in a blatant bit of acting. Del Horno also has a look up at the ref and then rolls around over and over trying to pretend he has been hurt as well. Was pathetic, really.

i like how ppl bash you when: 1.)it's ur opinion and theres no right/wrong answer 2.)they just criticize w/o countering what you said full of class Eto'o would be a waste of money (potential money, whatever), he'd be completely over-valued.... If you watch LaLiga (and I have a sneaking suspicion you don't), you'll notice that 95% of Eto'o's game comes from Ronaldinho... Without him the man would just be your average decent Champions League striker, no better Now for an analogy:- People thought Kevin Phillips was good. He scored lots of goals for Sunderland one season, 30 or thereabouts, and a bagload another season as well (but couldn't cut it for England - "hmmmm" I thought to myself) Then Niall Quinn, the human giraffe, retired. I said "That Phillips lad is gonna do rubbish without Quinner knocking down every ball on to him" And low and behold, Phillips never scored again. (Well, pretty much) The partnership made him look a lot better than he really was on his own merits.

Henry has 20goals in all competitions?....if so, then i take back everything i said and its been a decent season for him (not a bad one)
just seems poorer to me this year....and that prob is due to the 4-5-1....
I just wish he wasnt captain...

I just wish he wasnt captain... It bugs me at times when people give their two cents as to who should be captain, being a know-it-all who knows sweet f.a. None of us know what goes on in the dressing rooms, not one of us knows what type of relationships the different players have Fans only base their opinions on what they see on the 90 minutes of the game. There's a lot more to being a captain than that. If Arsene Wenger made him captain, then I'm going to take that with respect. Arsene knows far more about the ins and outs of who should be Arsenal captain, so keep your trap shut

fair point...
but from what i do see during those 90mins, he def dosent deserve the captain role...but ur right, dressing room/training are also taken into account....

Totti is not gonna be in the WC. Coz of a stupid tackle in midfield? The referees should start punishing real hard those fuckers that don't know how to hit a ball without putting the other players on the ground. For start, they should attend to the FIFA recomendations to send off a guy that tackes from behind. That's the point. And not even one referee from europe is doing that. Do you think Lugano should've been sent off for knocking out Gerrard at the WCC 2005? What if Gerrard doesn't play for a year coz of that tackle? What did he get by the end of the day? The cup and a yellow card.. way to go! EDIT: btw, I gotta say. Just take a look at Tourre for the MDRD x ARSL game. That was a great play. Robinho couldn't get through him any time. now THAT is a defender.

If it was intentional then he should have been sent off, but if it was an accident and the player had the intetion of going for the ball then I don't really think it should be a sending off (depending on the circumstances). But it isn't just happening it Europe, stuff like this happens everywhere. I think its a bit unfair just to have a go at Europeans. Its just part and parcel of the game, you can't really get rid of mistimed tackles or play thats like that. In some cases its actually some footballers jobs to 'rough' up the opponent.

Maybe it's just my impression... but I'm not concerned. If they get Kaka out of the WC we still got Juninho and if they manage to get him out too there's still Alex, and on and on.. I wonder what Italy will do.

Henry is as vocal as anyone on the arsenal pitch, when the captancy went up in the air i prayed hed get it, his captancy has nothing to do with sol campells embaracing lack of agility, or the rest of the defences problems, when veria was captain arsenal were a better team, but maybe that had something to do with having a better side, and more in form players, verias last season he was not up to his own standards lets not forget, veria was out at the start and arsenal steam rolled every team, then when he came back started to slip. if were looking for a captain to lead by example, there is noone better at hightbury than Henry. dont be so quick to point the blame, as it highlights your ignorance of the beautiful game.

errr no it doesnt m8..
if it makes me look ignorant, then ur view makes u look naive
Henry SHOULD NOT be captain: -He's way too moody: A good captain will try to inspire his teamates, but when something goes wrong Henry sulks....not captain material
-Leadership: How often do you see Henry communicating with his fellow team mates....
-Loyalty: A captain is suppose to be loyal to the club, team mates, and fans. Henry's future is in doubt....thus his commitment is in doubt too
A Captain needs Loyalty, Leadership, and be Influential....Henry has v few of these characteristics when things GO WRONG
Crazy Jens, Sol Campbell and even ASH fit the above criteria alot better.....
A good player does not neccessarily mean a good player
and, btw, i never said the captain--Henry--was to blame for our struggles. NEVER. I just said he's not captain material....and hes not...
plus it puts even more pressure on the guy, which is harsh bc we all expect him to score in almost every match (if he has an off day, we criticize him), and hes under pressure to sign too...does he really need the burdern of being a captain?
sorry m8, but the wrong choice was made in that area by AW...
(heh MAYBE it was an incentive to keep Henry to stay?...that may be a possibility...)

Naive? sorry, but you talk to your Mother about your lack of sex life, your political veiws are so obviously that of a 18 year old without a clue, you feel your opinion is law, feckarse said it all for me, in fact im going to stop typing a reply, ill end with this, You are an utter vagina.

and to clear shit up, u fucking moron, it wasnt about my sex life....really i think ppl who have sex under 20 are fucking idiot....if u want the chances of STDs and a baby when you're THAT young, thats your choice.....no....i was telling my mom to stay away--ie privacy....wow so wrong innit.
You can disagree with my opinions, i dont give a shit. But to say i dont have a clue what im talking about is pure arrogance. When my teacher read my Arsenal paper, he said i really should be a sports writer, when i published by article in the political magazine dealing with Iraq, my LIBERAL teacher said i should go into political science (which i am...)
so shut the fuck up....
Oh, and how did Henry play today? was it a typical captains performance? did he lead by example....hell, did he lead the team at all?
you are a fucking ass hole.....it's ashame that people like you exist in this society...oh well....
