Really sad reading this.
The opportunity to get to hear unheard songs doesn’t come around that often and the possibility of more looks to have gone.
I’ve been in this side of the game for a long time. Been involved in sourcing bits and pieces back when the old rkid blog was up and running and contributed to various fan funds to get demos and the like out there and I know how much hassle a trader, taper and collector goes through.
Some proper genuine arseholes out there at times.

Some proper genuine arseholes out there at times. Absolutely pal, I tend not to post in this section much but thought I’d put my thoughts down anyway The efforts some of us go through to get new material you wouldn’t believe, sometimes there is a reason things don’t surface because of the way things get out there, people’s jobs, livelihood and reputation can be sometimes on the line. So when things get uploaded onto the internet I’m afraid it’s out there and it’s out of the uploaders hands despite what conditions are put out there. Many years ago there was a lot of selling of bootlegs on eBay and that, that seems to have been replaced with this silly YouTube craze now where folk are just desperate for hits on their channels, really don’t get what the fuss is on that and to see people asking for contributions? Come on man, that’s just fucking selling. Social media can be used well to publicise something which Kyle is doing but when it’s in the wrong hands it does spoil it for the rest of us like what’s happened here. Kyle can’t win, he’s let that Maxi guy promote this demo for his new site then he gets a bit of stick and now he’s been stung by someone trying to spoil his exhibition and steal his thunder for whatever reason. Couldn’t blame the lad for not coming back on here to be honest There’s some really good members on this forum and over the years unfortunately some have left due to whatever reasons but there’s always the odd one that lets it down for us all. I stopped uploading things to this forum many years ago due to some idiots on here and when I read through threads like this I can see it’s not changed which is a shame. The minute you upload something, people that have never contributed to this forum before but taken so much come up with the usual crap of can this be split? Can this be tagged? Can you upload somewhere else? Can this be in mp3? It’s tiresome when you’ve gone through the effort of getting it out there and see comments like that. I can tell you for certain that a LOT of shows won’t surface because of the YouTube uploaders, why should tapers go through all the hassle of taping and getting them transferred and remastered for some cheeky sod to upload them on their YouTube channel and have the audacity to give it a rating, do you know how insulting that can be? Do you know how much tapers pay for their equipment? Tickets? Travel? Think Alec put up a post recently outlining what a taper goes through to try and bring you guys the best recordings! It spoils their enjoyment of a gig just so you can listen to a gig in the best quality we can for FREE! It’s a shame it’s gotten to this but unfortunately it doesn’t surprise me. Glad trading is still alive where you can trade with trusted people and not get any hassle Peace out

Unfortunately it's the current times, social media shit and the human nature all coming together in a fucked up way. Unfortunately there's lots of those idiots like the one sad child in this thread, whose mentality is "me me me, look at me, give it to me now Now NOW". There's no patience left at all. Those people don't give a shit about anyone else and they just want to get everything right now. I completely understand why many traders/ collectors never want to upload and share unheard songs. It's not worth it as we've seen.

The Gen-Z “got into oasis after Supersonic came on Netflix” crowd are all a bit strange. I've come across a few people like him on twitter in particular, really strange types who I've never quite understood. I'm a gen z Who got into Oasis about a year before Supersonic came out btw, guess I got in before the weird ones I guess always Gen Z but not all Gen Z 😅 But in reality there’s always been a few weirdos. There just seems to be more weirdos these days.

I like that description… Really did feel like that at times. I started that blog to give something back to other fans and through it I spent money on promos, silver pressed CDs and building relationships and in some cases, friendships, with quite a few amazing and generous people who supported me with a number of items from their collections so everyone could hear the music. It lead on to being involved in getting demos out there, being part of organising fan collections to get tapes and CDs of stuff we would never have gotten to hear. It’s always a shame when someone wants to contribute to the community rather than be a fame seeker and they get treated like shite, just leaves such a bad taste in the mouth.

We've reached a period of peak excess and narcissism when it comes to social media, where people are more reliable on it to function than they were ten years ago. Unfortunately the youth that have grown up in this environment will have cognitive and behavioral issues due to such an unhealthy dependence.

Unfortunately the youth that have grown up in this environment will have cognitive and behavioral issues due to such an unhealthy dependence. That's very true. Social media these days is built around getting lots of short, immediate dopamine fixes. It seems to have created a mentality where everyone wants everything right now.

I agree actually and I know exactly what you were getting at in your original post cause you do get some very weird people online, the kind of people who think being a clone of Liam is somehow the only way to be a proper fan or something

Would credit your RKID blog Jim of getting me back into Oasis in 2010 or so. I'd fallen out of love after Heathen Chemistry, but unearthing a fair amount of stuff I'd never heard before really reinvigorated my passion for the band. Agree with a lot of the posts above. Asking for money on PayPal or whatever for something that's not yours is really scumbag behaviour. I would say in response to Howdo that re: rating bootlegs on YouTube - if you're referring to the channels that provide descriptions there are a couple that are really good (one called Shakermaker that whilst they do take most of their boots from L4E, adds context to each gig and is rarely critical of the taper) and make shows which people like me would never usually hear easily accessible. Anyway - for those who share and go above and beyond, keep doing what you do and don't let the bastards grind you down!
