The country is in a massive state of degradation and people are genuinely struggling across many fronts in a way that they weren’t during Trump’s presidency. If you don’t live here you have no idea how bad things have gotten and shouldn’t shame others for voting for someone they think can bring things back to the way they were; which was better than today. We are in massive decline. But it's nothing new. It was better during Trumps presidency just like it was better under Obama's (compared to now when even accounting for the recession). Bush. Clinton. And for every president all the way back to 1968. Productivity has increased while wages have stagnated. It's been a gradual, sneaky devaluing of citizen buying power over the past 56 years. The cost of living steadily rose while wages did not. We are nearing the point where it is unsustainable to be both a regular consumer and a financially secure individual. Once the money stops flowing, we will see change. When people can't afford to bury their anger, exhaustion anxiety, and fears into distractions like Netflix, the money stops flowing and people hit the streets en masse.
What do these presidents share in common? They don't do anything substantial to lift people out of poverty. They instead enable policies that trap people into it, with no hope for escape. Even meaningful full-time labor, often isn't enough for people to escape. These presidents instead focus their policy on lifting corporations through the financial ladder, who also just so happen to be generous campaign donors. What a joke the U.S has become.
There were some pretty great economic years in the 90s after a fairly rough stretch in the 80s, so it hasn’t quite been a steady decline and there’s been a much more precipitous downturn during the Biden presidency than any other time during my life. That being said, I could not possibly agree with the second paragraph of your post more. Superbly stated and 100% spot on!

Who can remember when trump said this about Mexico during his 1st campaign "They're bringing crime, they're bringing rapists" Pretty ironic words from a criminal rapist

so it hasn’t quite been a steady decline and there’s been a much more precipitous downturn during the Biden presidency than any other time during my life. COVID, War in Ukraine and a global inflation. These things all happened during his presidency and affected the entire world. I don’t think you can blame him for any of this. You don’t life on an island. Another trump presidency will not only do a lot more damage to an already fragile western world but with all the lunatics in the background of trump and project 2025 looming the situation in the US will only getting worse. And I don’t even see a way out of this, your entire political system needs an upgrade, your constitution is old and outdated yet you treat it almost like a bible. And don’t get me started on the way you vote. JFC every one with an ID should be allowed to vote and the one with the most votes gets to be president. It’s not that hard. And stop treating this like a show „oh look another 5 votes in Michigan went to the democrats how exciting“ fuck no politics should be boring and not entertainment. Ugh everything about America is so infuriating but i have to pay attention because it affects my life aswell since every stupid discussion seems to find its way to Europe

So you agree with his second paragraph despite supporting the most corporatist President of all time?

Are you trying to get me to stoop to your level so I’ll hurl abuse your way and negate substantive discourse? You’re well aware that I’ve never once stated I support Trump (quite the opposite), so stop with the disingenuous bullshit.

Biden’s pre taped interview is tonight at 8pm ET. Stream on ABC. I’m expecting a mediocre performance - pre taped, and edited with a friendly interviewer, however it won’t be enough to assuage voter’s concerns. Biden needs to do a two hour live spontaneous press conference. www.axios.com/2024/07/05/biden-abc-interview-george-stephanopoulos

MTG and Americans, when we say hung parliment we mean: A hung parliament is a term used in legislatures primarily under the Westminster system (typically employing majoritarian electoral systems) to describe a situation in which no single political party or pre-existing coalition (also known as an alliance or bloc) has an absolute majority of legislators
Got it? Good.

The absolute knee-jerk, whiplash inducing, 180-turn that democrats have done from saying Biden is our best choice to Biden needs to go now has been entertaining as hell. I've seen some comparisons regarding what happened in 1968 when LBJ realized he couldn't win. It's not. LBJ dropped in March of 1968. We don't have decent options like RFK, Humphrey or even an legitimate wild card like Wallace (Im not saying he was good, I'm saying he was there). We also don't have a real war oversees that has at this point in time, become a complete disaster. The only thing that's even close is the hatred LBJ had towards Nixon is possibly comparable to Biden's distain of Trump (or what he can recall about the guy). We're less than four months away and you think you can convince people who are fed up with Biden and Harris that maybe Harris is better? "He/She's not Trump" wont work and it barely did in 2020. "the democratic party at its worst, is still better than the republican party at its best" or something like that. I hate politics
