Afternoon all Have been following this thread for a couple of weeks now and just had my membership approved. I don't suppose anyone has seen any edit of JAR that has the singing of the rainbow colours section removed? I so want to love this song, and really like the rest of it, but I find I'm always waiting to hear that bit which really makes me cringe and I cannot get over it! If an instrumental mix of the song turns up it would be easy to simply mix out the vocals on that section (I'd rather just mix those vocals out rather than edit the song). I wanted to do that with the "frog" sections on ONCE but never found an instrumental version. I did once find an instrumental of Paul McCartney's MY LOVE and used it to mix out the annoying "whoa wa whoa wah" sections. It was much better.

So hypothetically for Liam to have a number 1 single or even come close - He clearly needs to make a one off single with no album announcement yet, similar to this. That achieves the order side of things and gets him to number 1 initially and on sales overall. He would then need the song to be featured on an advert or film a couple of weeks prior. Probably perform it on a few shows that week etc. Maybe something of the scale of one love concert again. There's a lot of factors you'd need now unnecessarily to get it high in the charts. I think #16 is a massive success for the song though and shows the album will be #1 and a worthwhile project. Just hope the songs improve a bit. 100%. To put things into perspective, just look how older and/or rock acts have fared on the UK Singles Chart in recent years; Radiohead haven’t made the Top 60 since 2008. Foo Fighters last made the Top 50 in 2011. Elton John’s last charting solo single was in 2005. U2 last made the Top 60 in 2009. Since Blur’s comeback in 2015, they’ve snagged one week at #81. The Killers’ most recent Top 40 song was in 2013. Robbie Williams has had one Top 40 hit since 2013, and no charting songs since 2016. Take That have scored one Top 40 hit since 2014. Collaborations aside, Paul McCartney hasn’t charted with a new song since 2007. Bruce Springsteen hasn’t made the Top 80 with anything new since 2002. Even the Arctic Monkeys have only made the top 20 once since 2013, and their fanbase is aimed more toward streaming. So #16 looks pretty good from where I’m standing. Good post. Really amazing stats as well. Surprised about Blobby Williams. But every cloud aye

Based on what we've heard so far from Mars to Liverpool. I'm wondering if that was the first single and JAR was the 2nd release if people would have been less judgemental of JAR. I think it is an interesting take. MARS seems already like its a safer bet kinda tune based on the melody and chorus. I wonder if people would have reacted differently and more supportive to Rainbow after the safer sounding MARS.
Some food for thought...

When the album is released, grab your cd, rip the whole thing, edit the song in any software available (Its an easy edit this one), export to WAV. boom. Done.

And I'm saying this as a Shakermaker entushiast but it would've been wild.

Ok so I haven’t heard the full version yet but as off now I prefer JAR ok colours bit is a bit meh but overall tune is pretty good love Liams vocals on it. But might change opinions tomorrow just loving the tunes coming out from both Gallaghers atm. Good times.

It's about 13 hours until midnight in England. And we could probably listen Mars to Liverpool.

Just a few hours to relive the 90s in our ears and heads, until someone invents time travel for the masses.

There's no way anyone else gets as much shit for just singing a few colours in a song.
The scrutiny on Liam's lyrics is just going to be there forever now sadly.
