I'm not sure if this interview has been discussed in depth on the forum yet, but in Noel's recent interview with Gibson TV last month he discusses his journey with Oasis and much of it focusses on his approach to songwriting and where his songs came from for each album.
The most important moment to me, is when he dicusses the issue of Be Here Now, and frankly admits that the well was dry by the time it came round to releasing Be Here Now, that the songs were left overs not good enough to be on the first two records and that he was 'A bit of a chancer'. I believe this is the first time we have heard Noel outright admit that he wasn't up to the task of making classic record after classic record. I don't mean for this to turn into another Be Here Now autopsy thread but what do people think of this? Are we surprised by Noel's candour? Is this Noel Gallagher's humblest moment?
The key timestamp is 30:05. For my money this is the best interview of Noel available on the web alongside the one with "That Pedal Show"?

As far as I know, the only new thing Noel said in this is about Be Here Now is that he used songs that weren't good enough for the first two. But he's said many time that he didn't have any songs left, that he couldn't get inspiration or be arsed to write, and that they were too busy living the lifestyle any way (fur coats, top hats, chimps and so on). But it is a brilliant interview and I love those times where Noel is candid.
