I've been reading Some Might Say. It really made it clear to me how insane the demand was for Oasis in 1996. Being a new fan in the US in 1996, I obviously didn't fully appreciate this at the time.
I am NOT desiring an Oasis reunion. But reading the book made me wonder. In a hypothetical situation where Oasis was going to have a one-off reunion gig at Knebworth. Would the demand be even higher than it was in 1996? It seems like a crazy question but to be honest, I feel the range of response would be 'not even close to the same' to 'even more'. I have zero sense for what the right answer is.

I don't know, but I sure as fuck hope if they do ever do a reunion it isn't just a festival gig.

I’m going with: Two nights at Knebworth. 250K people EACH night.

It would be sold out, but it would never reach the heights nor demand of 96 Knebworth. That was just insane. Times have changed.

Lot of people who are barely casual fans would top up the numbers. Don't laugh. The number of people I know who went to see Blur who don't even own an album and only know Song 2...I'd ask why are you going then and they'd say oh for the experience, be a good atmosphere, historical etc. You'd get a shitload of that lot for Oasis...especially if it's a one off gig. People want to say they were there.

It would break all records. All the Wonderwall-only fans would show up for sure. At least here in the U.S.

Given solo Liam did two shows there, I think a full-blown reunion could sell out four or five shows tbh.
It wouldn't reach the demand of 1996, but they only sold a tiny fraction of what they could have sold back then, as well.
